Low maintenance hair myths

*Low maintenance doesn’t mean no maintenance: As long as you have hair on your head it’ll require maintenance of some kind. Hair color fades & grows out, cuts don’t maintain their shape & your ends split. Gone are the days of 8 week salon maintenance - but quarterly appointments are recommended to get your hair looking its best.
*What you do to your hair at home does matter: The products you use, how often you wash, the temperature you have your irons at, all play a factor in your hair maintenance. If you’re putting your hair through more on a regular basis it will require more salon maintenance.
*Pre-booking your salon appointments is crucial: You’re coming into the salon less often so you don’t need to book before you leave right? Wrong! Booking before you leave ensures your spot on the schedule & serves as your reminder that it’s time for your hair’s TLC. The consequences are going longer between appointments (either because you forgot, or I’m completely booked out) which means your ends end up in worse shape than they would be & your color will take longer - costing you more.
In conclusion -
Be realistic with your maintenance! Most of my clients are on a quarterly schedule & absolutely always pre-book before they leave. This ensures their chosen space on my schedule & that their hair is always beautiful & healthy. Treat your hair with care at home! Wash less (& with high quality products), turn your hot tools down, use heat protection, don’t sleep with wet hair etc.
I create low maintenance looks and it’s the commitment that you will maintain them. 🤗

No music to this so you could hear me & Noah singing together. (See slide 17)
- First Idaho fair (turkey leg was 1/2 the price compared to Texas & was worth that)
- Built the legos
- Arranged pressed florals
- Visited Seattle
- Smelled SO many flowers
- Sunsets, hikes, train rides
Definitely had some summer sads BUT it’s all still working out for me - it’s in the cards.

I love when you bring me a challenge. Color corrections help me grow & expand as a hairstylist. This one was definitely a good time! 4.5 hours from start to finish with a haircut.
Of course we did this sectioning twice because I had to repigment the lighter pieces (that weren’t staying light) so the fade would look just as good as the finished product.
& because I know you’re wondering - “Elena how is this low maintenance?” This is *probably* the most high maintenance color service I offer, but typically I utilize a clients’ natural color as their darkest color & drop out their hairline & part line. This ensures a more seamless grow out in the visible areas so you don’t feel so “stripy”.
We’re in love 😍
