I'm proud to say that I presented to the nurse practitioner students at Boise State University on behalf of Eucalyptus Health yesterday. We talked about considerations in primary care for transgender folks, among two classes of acute care NP's, and one class of primary care NP's.

Thank you to Dr. Nicole Bartlett for this amazing opportunity. I can't wait to teach more in the future!

Tomorrow night we're having our first Adult S*x Ed Class: Dating Edition! If you don't want to miss it, you can still register here: www.bit.ly/adult-s*x-ed

How many of us have gone to our primary care or urology or gynecological provider, and been asked,

"Is there anything you're struggling with in your s*x life?"

It's a shame that most of us haven't, because s*xual concerns are quality of life concerns, and they make a significant impact on our lives. When the average healthcare appointment is less than twenty minutes, you don't have time to get around to the awkward questions... And your therapist may not have the information or the tools to help.

Join Adult S*x Ed through Eucalyptus Health on January 17th at 8:30 p.m. Eastern/ 5:30 p.m. Pacific on Zoom, to discuss consent/communication, safety, and (of course!) pleasure. Bring your questions and a friend, and feel free to leave your camera off if you're feeling shy.

Sometimes, your s*x life changes because your life changes.

It can be divorce, becoming a widow, or other big life changes--but none of these mean you have to stop having s*x. It just means your mindset and what you want from s*x might be different.

What are you doing to make yourself healthier, happier, and more prepared for your week?
Are you sleeping enough, eating enough vegetables, eating foods you take pleasure in, and moving your body mindfully?
Are you resting, it you've been ill?
This is your gentle reminder that self care is not chocolate and bubble baths, but rather the boring things that let us feel better in the long run.

11/24/2022

This is a friendly reminder that none of us owe anyone our time, participation, or effort. If the best way for you to use this time off is to recharge and be by yourself, then do that. Family and friends who truly love you will understand.

With the change to autumn and the scarcity of daylight, people who are prone to seasonal affective disorder (SAD) tend to have worse symptoms of low mood and energy.

Don't be afraid to prescribe lifestyle modifications to patients during this time of year: social media detox or decrease; increase aerobic activity and exercise outside; checking vitamin D levels; or strict sleep hygiene with a consistent schedule. Light therapy is another option that may be appropriate for some people.

Even without medications, many symptoms can be improved--it just takes consistency.

R. Featherstone, Founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner spoke at the 35th Annual Postpartum Support International conference today, on the intersection of eating disorders and pregnancy. Thank you to Katie for capturing this candid shot during the presentation!

Fascinating session with Rachel Featherstone APRN from Eucalyptus Health about the intersection of eating disorders and pregnancy/ postpartum! A couple interesting facts:
👉🏻50% of clients with an eating disorder history will seek mental health care after birth
👉🏻35% of people with a history of an eating disorder will experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder.

Eucalyptus Health is temporarily pausing our intake of new patients. In the mean time, Cadria will collect contact information and will be contacting patients when we are able to open up again, whether they reach out by phone or email.

Thank you for your understanding!

At the end of Pride Month, we want to acknowledge that not all kids have the same kind of families. There are all kinds of parents, and all kinds of struggles. They all deserve compassionate, understanding mental health care.
