Part one: Little (long) update on my surgery/ some insight of my experience with endo. A lot more to share but brains not fully working yet 🫠

What do MUAs do when it comes to makeup and creasing? Well, it can be inevitable but we have our techniques.

The one I personally like to use is waiting until touch ups to determine if I need to add more powder or take away excess product. Usually I will use a lip wand in the smile lines or under the eye to wipe away some product. Then reblend with the beauty blender or brush without adding anything extra to it and always pushing the product back into the skin. Then I’ll use a finishing powder (sometimes) to lightly dust on top and then another layer of setting spray.

Yesterday, after years of being dismissed and looked at crazy for knowing my body best, I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. There was a substantial amount found on my left pelvic wall and some on the right as well as my uterus lining/ muscle which they could not remove but it’s suspected I will feel a lot of relief from all that they did remove. I also had a cyst removed unrelated to endo. There’s more findings on the portal that I can’t interpret yet and waiting for post opp to go over it all.

Moral of the story, never stop advocating for yourself. Don’t let “you’re so young” or “you look okay” convince you that you’re crazy. This disease has affected every single part of my life. My work, my relationships with people, my relationship with food, and my relationship with myself.

It’s still going to be a long journey ahead but I FINALLY have an answer and just for that, I feel better. I’m confident more relief will come after recovery.

I am only trying to use the platform I have to spread more awareness because I feel like it’s my duty. So many people are suffering and they need more encouragement and someone to understand and listen. If it weren’t for social media, I wouldn’t have gotten to see the thousands of stories from other women.
