Here’s what took me years to understand: the style only looks as good as the cut underneath it. A precise cut grows out right, holds its shape, and makes finishing faster, and clients notice all of that even if they can’t explain it. This is the foundation I teach in my cutting class. The secret is starting with healthy hair and maintaining it afterward:
đź’š Use a sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo
đź’š Alternate moisture and reconstructive treatments weekly
đź’š Add a protein treatment about every 8 weeks
đź’š Keep your ends trimmed
đź’š Limit heat, tight styles and unnecessary manipulation
Color isn’t always what damages the hair, neglecting the maintenance will do it every time. Healthy color requires healthy habits!
