📢 BUFFALO PUBLIC SCHOOLS UPDATE

The Buffalo Public School District has announced plans to close 8 additional schools beginning in the 2027–2028 school year!

As a member of the Buffalo community, this decision raises serious concerns about the impact on our students, families, teachers, aides, and school staff. With schools already facing staffing challenges and crowded classrooms, closing additional buildings could mean more students being placed into already overcrowded schools and more educators and staff potentially losing their positions.

The schools identified for closure are:

🏫 PS 33 – Bilingual Center
🏫 PS 59 – Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet
🏫 PS 82 – Ronald People School of Scholars
🏫 PS 90 – Early Childhood Center
🏫 PS 131 – Academy School @ PS 86
🏫 PS 208 – Riverside Academy
🏫 PS 309 – East High School
🏫 PS 366 – Research Laboratory High School

If your child currently attends one of these schools, or you are a parent, educator, aide, or community member affected by these changes, this is something worth paying attention to and staying informed about!

Our children’s education, classroom environments, and the people who support them every day matter 🏫❤️

Buffalo families deserve to have their voices heard when decisions like these are being made!
