10 years ago, I made a choice to do something that was SO scary for me at the time—I went to cosmetology school. Yes, that’s right… not barber school. COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL. 😂
The odds felt stacked against me because I was supposed to be learning women’s hair and women’s styles, but somewhere along the way, I fell in love with BARBERING. 💈
So I took extra classes. I worked hard at every shop I was in. And even though there were years when I gave up, somehow I always found my way back.
Every year, I added something new to my craft—another skill, another service, another reason to keep growing. Today, I’m proud to be a barber who can offer multiple services in ONE session—from cuts and grooming to braids and SMP. 🙌🏽
Most importantly, I thank GOD for the talent He blessed me with and for giving me the courage to keep going, even during the times when I doubted myself.
And I’ll always do just that: KEEP GOING. ❤️
So, whoever is reading this—keep going. Add to your craft. Learn something new. Take the class. Build your skills.
And if you failed?
CONGRATULATIONS. 👏🏽
You didn’t lose—you just leveled up. 💈🔥
