The plan started before the install ever began.

During her consultation, time was spent discussing what would work best for her hair.

Including:
✅ Placement
✅ Weight
✅ How everything would feel on her scalp long term

The goal isn’t just fuller hair, but creating a result that is comfortable to wear, blends naturally, and supports the health of both the hair and scalp.

This is what a customized extension installation looks like.

You don’t have to stand in the aisle wondering what products to get…
or go down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what’s actually good for your extensions.

That part is already taken care of for you.

Every client leaves with products that are trusted, used behind the chair, and chosen to actually support their hair at home.

Because it’s not just about how your hair looks when you leave…
it’s how it holds up in the weeks after 🫶

If you’ve been thinking about extensions but feel overwhelmed by where to start, this is exactly why the process is guided every step of the way.

This has come up more often than people realize…

When it comes to hair extensions, there are some things that are completely normal in the beginning, and some things that aren’t.

A little tenderness or awareness in the first day or two? Normal.
Feeing heavy during the first wash? Normal.

But pain when you touch or brush your hair, burning, pinching, headaches, or feeling like you can’t even wear your hair up… that’s not something you should just “push through.”

Extensions should feel comfortable, secure, and easy to live with. Not something you’re constantly adjusting or thinking about throughout the day.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s always okay to ask questions.
You’re not being difficult, you just deserve to feel good in your hair.

The most common question is…

“How do you know when it’s time to replace your extensions?”

And honestly, it’s not always about how long you’ve had them.

It’s more about how they’re holding up day to day.

Sometimes it’s subtle at first:
❌ It’s not blending the same
❌ You’re fighting brassiness (even after glossing)
❌ It feels dry… like a broom 🧹
❌ Your natural hair has grown past the length of your extensions
(one of the most common reasons we replace them)

If your hair still feels good, blends well, and does what you need it to do, keep it.

But if it doesn’t… it might be time.

👉 Not sure? That’s usually where a consultation helps.

Extensions… where? 👀

Every set of extensions is custom colored to match even before meeting in person.

This client colors her hair at home, so her extensions were prepped using photos ahead of her appointment to get everything as close as possible.

By the time she sat in the chair, everything was already prepped and it blended seamlessly.

Lately I’ve been diving deeper into something I get asked about almost every day behind the chair…

hair thinning, shedding, and “why does this section feel different?”

The truth is, a lot of what you experience with your hair isn’t random. There are patterns, timelines, and reasons behind it.

So I’ve been spending some time back in learning mode again.

Not because I’m changing what I offer…
but because I want to better understand what I’m seeing so I can guide you more confidently and safely, especially when it comes to extensions on fine or thinning hair.

This industry is always evolving, and I never want to be the stylist who just “guesses.”

If you’ve ever sat in my chair and wondered what’s going on with your hair, just know I take that seriously. 🫶

If something feels off with your extensions, it’s easy to assume something went wrong…

Most of the time, it didn’t 👀

A slight shift can happen as your hair grows, and it’s usually a simple fix at your move-up.

But if you’re experiencing things like:
• ongoing pain or discomfort
• tension that doesn’t ease
• redness or irritation
• breakage

That’s when you should reach out so it can be adjusted properly.

Not everything you feel is a problem but knowing the difference matters ✨

This is what “full” actually looks like.

Not heavy, not obvious, and not something you have to constantly think about.

We added fullness, balanced her color, and customized the placement so it works with her lifestyle (yes… she can still wear her hair up and do space buns).

The goal is always hair that feels natural, comfortable, and easy to live in. Not something that only looks good for photos.

If your hair has been feeling thinner, uneven, or just not like you anymore, there are options that don’t feel overwhelming or high maintenance.

Fine hair + extensions doesn’t have to mean bulky or awkward grow out.

At almost 10 weeks, this is what her extensions actually looked like before her move up.

No damage.
No slipping.
No premature shedding.

Just consistent, healthy wear and then right back to seamless after her maintenance.

This is why placement, tension, and customization matter especially for fine hair.

Many women come in unsure of what to expect from extensions long-term.
Healthy grow out, comfort, and a seamless blend are all part of the process when everything is done with intention.

At Hallow Hair Co., the focus is on creating extensions that not only look beautiful on day one, but continue to wear well between appointments and support the health of your natural hair.

Fine hair can be frustrating.

Many women who sit in Darlene’s chair say the same things during their consultation:

• “My hair won’t hold volume.”
• “It always falls flat.”
• “I just want it to feel a little fuller.”

Hair extensions aren’t always about dramatic length.

For many, it’s simply about adding soft, natural fullness so their hair feels easier to style and a little more like themselves again.

Consultations for new clients are available.
