Our October 1 Radiant Season Collective event, “Take Space. This Is Our Season,” brought women together in Charlotte to move, connect, and take time for themselves. Today, we’re giving our sponsors and creative partners their flowers!

Perimenopause really said, “Oh, you thought hot flashes were the only thing we had going on?” 😂
Because WHY do I have frozen shoulder and can barely lift my arm high enough to wax my own underarms?! At this point, I had to "tag your it" my client to help a sista out! 😂🙋🏾♀️
But seriously… this is exactly why I created The Radiant Season Collective.
There are so many changes happening to our bodies in this season that we either don’t know about, don’t talk about, or find ourselves saying, “Wait… THAT’S perimenopause too?!”
And we need spaces where we can talk about ALL of it.
Our next event, Take Space. This Is Our Season, is happening October 1st in Charlotte, NC. We’re talking pelvic floor health, reconnecting with our bodies through Pilates, slowing down with a sound bath, and simply making space for ourselves.

I’d use “WHO GON’ WAX MY UNDERARMS?! 😂” as the opening text-on-screen hook. It creates curiosity before you reveal the frozen-shoulder/perimenopause connection.
Hard Wax vs. Soft Wax… CLIENT EDITION 👀
Clients, it’s okay to ask questions about what’s being used on your skin!
“Why are you using soft wax here?”
“Why did you choose hard wax for this area?”
“What’s the difference?”
A good esthetician should be able to explain their choice. But also understand... one wax isn’t automatically better than the other.
As an experienced waxer, I use hard wax AND soft wax depending on the area, hair type, skin, and what I feel will give my client the best result.
So ask your clarifying questions, understand what’s being used on your body, and then allow your esthetician to use their professional judgment.
Technique, experience, and knowing your client’s skin matter more than choosing sides in the hard wax vs. soft wax debate.

One thing I’ve learned after years behind the wax pot: it’s not just about the wax.... it’s about the TECHNIQUE.
Estheticians...Listen up!!! You can use hard wax OR soft wax on just about any area of the body when you understand your product, your client’s skin, hair growth, pressure, temperature, and proper removal technique.
I use both. I am not loyal to a particular kind of wax...I’m loyal to RESULTS. 💁🏽♀️
Understand, your client isn’t laying on your table worried about the hard wax vs. soft wax debate. What they really care about is:
✨ Does this hurt more than it needs to?
✨ Do I feel comfortable with you?
✨ Do you know what you’re doing?
✨ Can I TRUST you with my skin?
Technique builds confidence. Communication builds comfort. Consistency builds TRUST.
Master your craft, learn your products, and stop thinking one type of wax automatically makes you a better waxer.
At the end of the day, the wax is the tool. YOU are the professional.

I’m Candice — Licensed Esthetician, educator, and owner of CJ Wax Studio here in Charlotte, NC. I’ve been in this industry for over 20 years, and one thing about me… I take what I do seriously, but we’re definitely going to have a good time while you’re here. 😂
At CJ Wax Studio, we specialize in Brazilian waxing, full-body waxing, corrective and mature skincare treatments, and intimate skincare for both women AND men.
But for me, it’s always been bigger than the service.
