My son came to check on me, it was almost go time, and people were surprising me with their presence, which I don't take for granted. Showing up is sometimes the full purpose. I appreciate everyone! This clip showed a private moment with my MUA and hair stylist. You'll see more in the videos to come that I'll share daily for the next week or so.

Let me back up a bit... Although I had my retirement ceremony July 2nd, my last day in the United States Navy is the 31st/tomorrow. July has been a grand and great month, I mean that! I turned 40 on the 4th of July (videos coming for that too)! For 21 years, 10 months, and 22 days, I STOOD THE WATCH! There's more footage to come... #

When I revealed the ceremony space to our bride, she immediately broke down in tears.
She was completely fine with simple plastic chairs—but we upgraded them because we knew her moment deserved more.
And one detail that meant everything was making sure her loved ones who had passed were still present at the ceremony.
We draped memorial banners with their photos over reserved chairs so their presence could be felt, seen, and honored.
The moment she saw it all come together, the emotion hit both of us—and yes, it made me tear up too.
While standing there, she poured into me, she told me to “keep doing good to others,” and that reminder meant more to me than she probably knows.

The moment the doors opened, you could see and feel the pure emotion… and that “yesssss” said it all. ✨
