On Juneteenth, we remember that freedom didn't reach everyone at once, some folks didn't even know they were free until somebody told them. Today, we know we're free, but that freedom means the most when we use it to uplift others.
So this Juneteenth, don't wait, be the person who shows up. Come volunteer with us at My Block, My Hood, My City, and help build the freedom we all deserve.

Kwame, Dana Dane, Slick Rick, and Special Ed sitting in one room. This photo is a hip hop history lesson.
Before streaming numbers, viral clips, and social media rollouts, these four helped define what style, storytelling, and personality meant in rap.
Slick Rick turned narration into an art form. Dana Dane brought the wit. Kwame made fashion a statement. Special Ed was lyrical confidence personified before he could even vote.
Different eras. Different lanes. Same foundation.
Give them their flowers while they're still here.

Romeo Miller, born Percy Romeo Miller Jr. and formerly known as Lil' Romeo, is an multi-faceted American rapper, actor, entrepreneur, and athlete who first rose to fame as a child star in the early 2000s. The son of hip-hop mogul Master P, he was signed to No Limit Records at a young age. He made history when his 2001 debut single "My Baby" surged to number three on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking Michael Jackson's long-held record for the youngest artist to top the Billboard charts. Beyond his early musical success with multiple studio albums, Miller successfully transitioned into a prominent on-screen personality, famously starring in his own Nickelodeon sitcom, Romeo!, from 2003 to 2006, as well as appearing in major feature films like Honey (2003) and Jumping the Broom (2011). Leveraging his athletic talent, he earned a full basketball scholarship to play for the USC Trojans. Today, he continues to expand his family's legacy by running No Limit Forever Records, launching various business ventures, and advocating for public causes like diabetes awareness.

Jadakiss pulled up wearing the most iconic fitted in New York history.
Spike Lee called New Era in 1996 and asked for a red Yankees hat that didn't exist yet. George Steinbrenner approved it personally. That cap changed streetwear forever.
This year, New Era dropped a limited edition with Spike's signature embroidered on the grey undervisor. Jada got his hands on one.
A Yonkers legend wearing a Brooklyn legend’s Yankees hat. New York never misses.
