For Egypt, water was never simply central to life.

It was the beginning, the now, and the future of civilization.

For thousands of years and more, people built their lives around the Nile—learning its rhythms, working the soil and depending on the return of its waters.

The Nile fed the land. Its annual inundation renewed the soil. It carried people, food, trade, ideas and stone.

And the Egyptians learned how to work with it.

They traveled it, irrigated with it and used it as one of the great highways of the ancient world.

We are still discovering just how important water may have been to some of Egypt’s greatest achievements. Research has revealed ancient branches of the Nile that once ran far closer to the pyramid fields than the river does today, supporting the idea that boats could carry people, stone and building materials toward monumental construction sites.

Even the pyramids belonged to a landscape shaped by water.

The Nile was nourishment, movement, renewal and power.

We always hear that the human body is mostly water.

Egypt? I like to say it was 200% Nile.

Because without water, there is no life.

And without the Nile, there is no Egypt as we know it.

I went to Egypt wanting to learn more about the blue lotus. What surprised me most was how omnipresent it is throughout ancient Egyptian history.

Once I started looking for it, I saw it everywhere—across tombs, temples and sacred spaces, in offerings, art, architecture and scenes of daily life.

The lotus carried profound meaning for the ancient Egyptians. Because it closes at night and opens again with the morning sun, it became associated with rebirth, regeneration, creation and the afterlife.

But it was also woven into beauty, body care, adornment and ritual. Seeing it appear again and again made me understand just how central it was to their world.

That same idea of ritual is central to SESEN.

I wanted to create something beautifully simple: one multifunctional, head-to-toe ritual that could move with you from face to body to hair, from everyday skincare to massage, relaxation, travel, layering with fragrance, and those quiet moments when you simply want to slow down and care for yourself.

Because simplicity is beauty.

Our Egyptian Blue Lotus Luxury Head-to-Toe Glow Oil was created to nourish and care for your skin — with a beautiful botanical aroma as part of the ritual.

Across SESEN, we bring together Egyptian Blue Lotus, mastic, black seed oil, myrrh, frankincense, marula and other treasured botanicals with clinically recognized skincare ingredients like sugarcane-derived squalane, vitamin E, stable vitamin C and other high-performance skincare ingredients.

And yes… it smells beautiful. 🪷 But the scent is intentionally soft, botanical and skin-close.

Natural botanical and essential oils don’t have the same projection or longevity as a conventional perfume. The aroma will naturally soften, so reapply throughout the day as desired — or layer your SESEN oil under your favorite fragrance. ✨
