Hello Sisterlocks® Family,

Dr. JoAnne Cornwell, the founder and originator of Sisterlocks - the original microlocks/interlocking system, has done so much for so many around the world. Many pay homage and give thanks to her for her innovative, creation of Sisterlocks. Most recently, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson mentioned and credited Dr. Cornwell and her sisters, Celeste Geary and Carol Jenkins for "her signature hairstyle," in her new book, Lovely One!

I think back to the days of Justice Jackson's confirmation hearings. My phone was ringing off the hook, as happened often whenever there was a "Sisterlocks sighting" on national television. But this was different. Very, very different. This was one of "us" sitting in one of the highest positions in the justice system and wearing her hair in Sisterlocks! Turns out, as proud as we are of her, she is just as proud of the Sisterlocks Founders as we are.

In her book, Lovely One, Justice Jackson mentions the Sisterlocks founders by name. She doesn't merely mention them, she delves into the origins, Dr. C's history, provides insight into Dr. Cornwell's dedication to the Sisterlocks Brand and quotes Carol!

I am so thankful to Ketanji Jackson because her glowing praise of Dr. Cornwell, Celeste and Carol demonstrates that she not only "gets" Sisterlocks, she understands the importance of what it means to give other sisters their flowers. She embodies the meaning of the root word of Sisterlocks, which is "sister"...sisterhood, sister-friend, and a sister who understands that is is OK to be ok lifting up other sisters.
