🌎 Today is World Skin Health Day 2026! This vital initiative is brought to us by the International League of Dermatological Societies and the International Society of Dermatology!

Skin health is not a luxury - it’s a necessity. Many lives around the world are affected by skin diseases in both visible and invisible ways.

Here’s the global impact of some widespread conditions:
🔷 : 125 million people are affected, impacting both physical and emotional well-being.
🔷 : 230 million people live with eczema, which can challenge daily comfort and quality of life.
🔷 : Over 1.5 million cases arise each year, evidencing that prevention and early detection are vital.
🔷 : Affecting around 70 million people a year, there is a need for greater societal understanding towards those with visible differences.
🔷 : 1 in 5,000 people in Sub-Saharan Africa and 1 in 20,000 in Europe/North America live with albinism. They can face severe discrimination and the threat of violence or even murder, emphasising the need for human rights protections and societal change.

Together, it’s time to raise awareness, end stigmas, promote prevention and early care, and advocate for equity in access to treatment for all!
