Here’s one thing I encourage my clients to reconsider: leaving the heavy black eyeliner wrapped all the way around the eyes in the past. As we age, that look can make the eyes appear smaller, harsher, and more tired than they really are.

And while that gorgeous eyeshadow palette is fun, you don’t need to use every single shade! 🎨 Less is often more. A few well-blended, strategically placed colors can brighten your eyes, create lift, and give you a fresh, effortless look.

Remember—makeup should enhance your features, not compete with them. As our skin matures, small changes in technique can make a huge difference.

✨ DO:
• Lift your blush higher on the cheeks.
• Keep eyeliner soft and focused on the upper lash line.
• Blend, blend, blend.
• Choose shades that brighten your eyes and complexion.

🚫 DON’T:
• Circle your entire eye with harsh black liner.
• Pack on every color in your palette.
• Assume the makeup techniques you used 20 years ago are still the most flattering today.

Can we talk about the bronzer trend? 😅

I know it’s everywhere right now, but I’m not a fan of dotting bronzer all over your face or pumping the product directly onto your skin.

Here’s why…

✨ It uses way more product than you need.
✨ It can be harder to blend evenly.
✨ It increases the chance of patchiness, especially on textured or mature skin.

Instead, I like to apply the product to my brush first and build the color gradually. You have so much more control, the finish looks softer, and if you need more, you can always add it.

Remember, just because it’s trending doesn’t mean it’s the best technique for every face.

This is one trend I’m happily skipping! 😅
