Do you know exactly where your radiation was delivered?

Radiation involving regional lymph nodes may affect lymphatic pathways and increase the possibility of swelling. Your radiation location, lymph-node surgery, current symptoms and medical history should be considered together.

Treatment may be completed, but its effects can remain relevant to future care.

Request a copy of your radiation summary and keep it with your survivorship records.

Save this post, share it with a survivor and follow Tuch’D Therapy for daily lymphatic-health education.

Do fewer lymph nodes removed mean there is no lymphedema risk?

Not exactly. A sentinel-node biopsy usually removes fewer nodes than an axillary lymph-node dissection, which generally lowers the risk but does not reduce it to zero.

Every survivor’s risk is influenced by their individual surgery, radiation, healing history and other factors.

Do you know how many lymph nodes were removed during your treatment? If not, that is a great question for your medical team.

Save this reminder and follow Tuch’D Therapy for survivorship education that makes the medical language easier to understand.

Could you explain your complete cancer-treatment history during a swelling appointment?

Tell your provider which procedures you had, whether lymph nodes were removed, where radiation was delivered and when your symptoms began. These details can help guide a safer and more complete assessment.

Your treatment history is not “old news.” It remains part of your present care.

Write down what you remember and request missing records when possible.

Save this checklist, share it with a survivor and follow Tuch’D Therapy for daily education about lymphatic health after treatment.

Would you know when swelling needs medical care instead of massage?

Rapidly increasing redness, heat, tenderness, pain or swelling especially with fever, chills or flu-like symptoms may indicate an infection such as cellulitis.

Do not massage the affected area or “wait and see.” Seek prompt medical evaluation. Chest pain or difficulty breathing requires emergency attention.

Knowing when not to perform treatment is part of responsible lymphatic care.

Save and share these warning signs.

Follow Tuch’D Therapy for education that prioritizes safety as much as results.

Were you told never to lift weights again after breast cancer treatment?

For many survivors, gradual and appropriately supervised resistance exercise can be safe and beneficial. The key is beginning at the right level, progressing carefully and watching how the body responds.

Your plan should reflect your surgery, healing, symptoms and medical guidance, not fear passed from person to person.

What type of movement helps you feel strong? Tell me below. 💪🏿

Would you purchase prescription glasses without knowing the correct strength? Compression deserves the same level of care.

The appropriate garment depends on measurements, symptoms, circulation, tissue condition and the person’s care plan. A sleeve that is too tight, too loose, rolling or creating new discomfort may not provide the intended support.

Compression is a therapeutic tool, not simply shapewear.

Before ordering a random sleeve online, request guidance from a qualified professional.

Save this for your next compression conversation and follow Tuch’D Therapy for results-driven lymphatic education.
