Two paths that were never supposed to meet — until she decided skin was sacred and refused to study it any other way.
When the world shut down, Charmaine Cooper went looking for resources on melanin-rich skin. There weren’t any. There hadn’t been in school decades earlier either. So she sat down and wrote — not one book, a series, planned as a series from the first page.
Her science is simple: all skin is the same. Same structures, same functions, same cells in the same numbers. Except one of them keeps score.
Which is why she doesn’t teach a script to follow. She teaches you to read the cell, and treat the skin in front of you.
