I never rush these moments.

The rocking.
The little head on my chest.
The tiny hand resting on me.
The weight of her getting heavier as she falls asleep.

Because I know there will come a day when I’d give anything to have one of these ordinary nights back.

There are a million things I could be doing.

But nothing more important than this.

Every year I say I’m just going to LOOK.

Salem went from being the baby to being there for every middle of the night feed, every pumping session, every exhausted mama moment.

He became their protector.
Their best friend.
The official dropped food cleanup crew. 😂
And somehow still remained the king of bedtime snuggles.

He didn’t get pushed to the side when our family grew.

His role just got bigger.

He’s still my baby and now I get to watch him help love and raise ours. 🐾🤎
