I’ll never tell someone how to live their life, but I’ll share what I’ve done to improve mine.
Prn is so mainstream and seemingly impossible to get away from entirely, but it’s vital that we do.
It drains your s*xual energy. Instead of sharing that energy with a real person, you give it to pixels that don’t know you exist. It’s cheap microwave dopamine with ZERO bounce back. In real life, if you walked in on people having s*x, you’d likely shut the door and walk away embarrassed. Yet this has us openly watching and stimulating ourselves like dopamine monkeys. It’s cuckolding in real life. Voyeurism is unnatural and unhealthy.
It keeps you from tackling hard things. I remember getting stuck on a project and immediately turning to it for fast dopamine. Microwave dopamine is terrible for us long term. Anything worthwhile takes consistent effort. Relationships require communication and compromise, demanding a selfless version of you. This is the opposite: it’s all about you and your immediate pleasure.
We use private browsers for a reason: it’s shameful. We hide undesirable behavior in the shadows.
If something is free, you are the cost.
An urge is a capsule of energy.
Plug it into anything: Lifting, reading, gaming, your business, ANYTHING ELSE.
Channel that energy into something you’re building.
Finding an accountability partner is incredibly effective. Apes together.. Strong.
You won’t change unless you want to. Change happens when the pain of staying where you are exceeds the pain of moving.
I used to spend hours searching for the perfect clip at night and then had zero interest in the real thing. That version of myself is gone. I still get urges when life is stressful, but I know that urges pass and damaging my integrity isn’t worth it.
Picture yourself like 90s Brad Pitt. When s**t goes wrong, you don’t see him beating off in a dark room until 2a. He’s out there doing cool s**t like a Sigma. Be Brad.
There’s power in saying “nah” and doing something else instead.
Don’t do what embarrasses you.
