Whew... ya girl had to gather her bearings.
Good morning! Long post alert. 🤭

At the beginning of this year, I announced that EmPress Luxe Esthetics would have two spa locations.

Expansion! Expansion! Expansion! Whew!

I was so excited (insert Kevin Hart voice 😂), because sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.

But here's the truth...

I made a bad business decision.
That wasn't easy to admit or post, but transparency matters.

Some time ago, an opportunity presented itself for me to leave Columbus, GA, and move EmPress Luxe Esthetics to Waverly Hall, GA. Honestly, I wasn't feeling it. I kept asking God, "What are You doing... and why?" 😂
So I prayed. I even brought in some prayer reinforcement—my pastor, Alicia Lyons Cooper. We went to see the space, and she kept saying, "Now Jessica, you can make it your own."
She did some convincing because I just couldn't see it. Fear was whispering sweet nothings in my ear, and I was nervous.

Then another opportunity came along.

I accompanied her to a meeting on Weems Road. During the conversation, lash extensions came up, and me being me, I couldn't help but share my expertise.

Then... BAM!

EmPress Luxe Esthetics had a second location at Colorblast Salon & Spa Suites.

I felt relieved. I thought, "Now my Columbus clients won't have to travel, and I can serve everyone." It made perfect business sense.

I prayed...And God was silent.Instead of waiting, I convinced myself His silence meant yes.
January came—I moved in.

February came—it felt like home.

March came—and God finally started talking.
I was like, "Bruh... NOW You want to speak?" 😂

April came.

Grand Opening! 🎉Family traveled in from out of town to support. We had photoshoots.A new love interest even appeared. Life was GOOD.
But underneath all the excitement... something didn't feel right.
The decision I made without truly hearing from God became louder than ever.

Then May came.

I had to have a conversation I'd been dreading.
I had just had a grand opening.Invested money.
Celebrated.

And now I had to be accountable for a decision that I knew wasn't the one God wanted me to make.The guilt.The shame.The disappointment.
I questioned my integrity, my morals, my decision making and how I conduct business at this point.

So...

I went back to where I was supposed to be. Waverly Hall, Ga with my big sis Sherry( LOVE HER TO LIFE) owner of Simple Serenity LLC
And guess what?
I DIDN'T LOSE A SINGLE CLIENT. 🙌🏾😭🩵
I LOVE MY CLIENTS!!

This isn't a dig nor disrespect to anyone. This is 100% on me.

I made a decision based on fear instead of faith.
Being an entrepreneur is probably one of the most faith-filled journeys you'll ever walk. I've always believed that... and yet I still found myself making a decision outside of faith.

I'm sharing this because someone else may be struggling with making the "logical" choice instead of the God choice.

If that's you...It's okay.
Sometimes we have to learn.
Sometimes we have to pivot.
Sometimes we have to humble ourselves and course-correct.That's exactly what I did.
I also had to step away from social media—both business and personal.

So if you sent me reels, tagged me, or messaged me and I didn't respond, I promise I wasn't ignoring you.I needed to quiet the noise, refocus, and hear God clearly again.

To Dainelle—thank you for everything you've done and continue to do. Every nugget of wisdom you've shared has helped shape me as a business owner. And to the amazing ladies of Colorblast Salon & Spa Suites—I love you all dearly. Thank you for welcoming me with kindness, support, and creating such an incredible suite community. 🫶🏾
