Body Wellness Massage Academy (BWMA), founded in 1992 and now located in Conway, Arkansas, has helped educate hundreds of massage therapists. Under owner Michelle Christen, BWMA continues its mission to train the region’s best therapists through hands-on learning and experienced instructors.
Our Arkansas Department of Health–approved 500-hour program (with a 650-hour program coming soon) and a 2000-hour apprenticeship option give students flexible ways to start a rewarding career helping others feel their best.
With open enrollment, financial assistance options, and real-world training beyond basic Swedish massage, BWMA prepares students for success in the growing massage industry.

At Body Wellness Massage Academy, our students are developing their skills in tapotement, a dynamic massage technique that uses rhythmic tapping, cupping, and percussion movements to stimulate muscles, increase circulation, and energize the body.
Learning tapotement is about more than just mastering the movements. Students practice proper body mechanics, rhythm, pressure control, and client communication to ensure every technique is both effective and safe.
