This client came to me after having previous microblading that she felt was too thick, dark, and overpowering for her face. After 3 removal sessions with our trusted affiliate, Bonsai Tattoo Removal , she was ready to begin a completely new brow journey. 🤍

Some light yellow pigment remained after removal, which can be more difficult and time-consuming to remove. However, it was minimal—especially in person—and with her blonde coloring, we felt comfortable moving forward after discussing realistic expectations.

Her goals were clear: softer, thinner brows with a more lifted, open, and youthful appearance. We created delicate Nano strokes at the fronts and used soft shading throughout the remainder. The result shows just how much more flattering gentle dimension can be compared to the harsh lines left behind by older microblading. 🙌🏼

At her Final Session, we added just enough pigment to go slightly darker while keeping everything soft and natural. Her brows will continue to lighten as they heal.

Something to know after laser removal: previously treated skin may hold pigment differently, and retention can be less predictable. While one client may normally wait 1.5–3 years for a Color Boost, someone with laser-treated skin could potentially need refreshing sooner—sometimes around 6–12 months. Many clients are completely comfortable with that because they prefer a softer brow that can be refreshed more often rather than risking another dark, oversaturated result. It’s a win-win. ✨

Nadia came in with previous work that she already liked — she just wanted her brows a littleeee thicker, more symmetrical, and more balanced. So that’s exactly what we did. 🙌🏽

Using Nano Microshading, we added just enough structure and fullness while still keeping everything soft and natural.

At the fronts, I intentionally kept the Nano strokes minimal. With her skin type + her goal of soft, airy fronts, more strokes doesn’t always mean better. Too many lines in a small area can create congestion, eventually reading more saturated and solid once healed.

The goal is never to pack in as much as possible — it’s knowing when enough is enough. 🤌🏽

Jessica’s brow journey & HEALED results!🤎

Jessica came to me with previous brow work done 10 years ago by another artist and laser removal about 5 months before seeing me. Her goal was to stay close to the natural intensity of her own brows—just fuller, softly defined, and balanced without going too dark or thick.

For her Initial Session, we chose Nano Microshading, using nano strokes through the heads paired with soft shading throughout. She loved how naturally they healed and didn’t want to change much at her Final Session. However, once healed, we both agreed the nano strokes at the heads weren’t providing quite enough fullness and soft definition to blend seamlessly with the rest of the brow.

For her Final Session, we transitioned to 100% Microshading, allowing me to softly build fullness through the heads while keeping everything diffused and natural. Her brows will still heal soft—just slightly fuller and more defined than her Initial healed results. ✨

A little education: previously tattooed and lasered skin can sometimes be more resistant and unpredictable with pigment retention due to changes within the skin from previous tattooing and removal. Even so, when older work needs a redo, removal is often the best foundation rather than continually layering new pigment over old ink. It gives us more freedom to rebuild the brows intentionally for softer healed results and more graceful aging long-term.

BOLD BROWS — but with a plan. 🤎

She traveled all the way from Oklahoma City for BOTH sessions with one major insecurity: years of over-plucking left her brows thin, uneven and difficult to recreate with makeup every day. Her goal was a makeup look with strokes in the front.

After a thorough consultation, we found the balance between the thicker, more prominent brow she was accustomed to wearing and something she could confidently live with long-term.

Technique: Nano Shading — approx. 15% nano strokes + 85% shading. We were also able to camouflage a scar within the brow.

She healed beautifully after her Initial Session, but at her Final Session she asked to go even darker + bolder. This is where client history matters! Some women have worn bold brow makeup every single day for YEARS. For those clients, I’m more open to pushing beyond my usual softness—as long as they fully understand the long-term consequences of additional saturation.

We discussed that once we build the brows this dark/full, there is less room to add more pigment in the coming years, brows potentially going ash, etc. She understood and was completely comfortable moving forward. 🤎

I always remind my clients: brow tattooing is a TEMPLATE, not a complete replacement for makeup. Pigment heals beneath the skin while makeup sits on top, so permanent makeup will never have the exact same intensity or finish as brow cosmetics.

For her, the goal was to create a strong, consistent template that eliminates starting from scratch every morning while still allowing her to add a little makeup whenever she wants that extra BOLD look.

For someone who rarely wears brow makeup, softer is usually better. But for someone with a long history of loving a bold brow? There’s room for that conversation too.
