Why are we called Salon Prism? A prism reveals light's true colors. We want to help our guests express themselves in the best ways, without feeling like they have to keep up with the Jones's or be like everyone else. That doesn't mean we don't love a good trend. We just think you can make your own trend too.

Our community has continued to support Salon Prism through a year that hasn’t been easy for a lot of people. We’re incredibly grateful—and we want to give some of that support right back.

So throughout October, 15% of all retail sales at Salon Prism will be donated to Mighty Moms .

Mighty Moms helps fight childhood hunger right here in our community, providing food and support to children and families who need it.

At home, Shannon has a pretty simple philosophy: if an animal shows up at her door, apparently it lives there now. 😂 Add in hunting, fishing, the outdoors, spending time with friends and most of all her daughter Luna — who is very much her own force of nature — and you get Shannon.

At Salon Prism, she’s our cheerleader.

She’s always willing to help, encouraging her teammates, celebrating their wins, and making sure nobody has to figure things out alone. She’s been part of this team for a long time, and we’re better because she’s here.

Behind the chair, Shannon loves creating lived-in, low-maintenance color that lets her clients have great hair without making their hair their full-time job.

Mostly, though, she just likes making people happy.

We’re pretty lucky to have her. Happy birthday, Shannon!

If you’ve been coming to Salon Prism for a while, you may know Anna. But if you don’t… you might be missing one of our best-kept secrets. 😉

Her station is tucked away in the back, so it’s easy to miss her when you walk in. But once you sit in her chair, you’ll probably wonder how you missed her for so long.

Anna loves working with clients who want their gray covered without feeling like they have to constantly chase their roots. She also loves foiling, and she’s really good at creating beautiful, wearable color, with a haircut and style to suit your needs and wants.

Her clients tend to appreciate the same thing about her that we do: she’s easy going.

You can sit down, take a breath, have a conversation, and actually enjoy your appointment. No rushing. No feeling like you need to know exactly what you want before you walk through the door. Just good hair and a relaxed experience.

And while Anna is usually behind the chair making everyone else look great… she’s about to have her own big moment.

She’s getting married next month! 🤍💍

One of my favorite things about this industry is getting to learn from each other. 🤍

I recently had the privilege to teach a curly hair class to my friends at True Beauty Salon, and I genuinely loved every minute of it.

I love being able to share what I’ve learned, but I also love that learning always goes both ways. Every stylist and every salon brings different experiences, strengths, and areas of expertise to the table and I get as much out of every class as I give.

We may all do things a little differently, but I think we have a pretty important goal in common: raising the professionalism of our industry through education, collaboration, and a willingness to keep learning and sharing.

Brandy owns True Beauty Salon, a thriving salon specializing in hair & scalp health for natural textures in Baton Rouge and has recently opened a second location in Zachary. I couldn't be more proud of and her team.
