For the people whose work is caring for everyone else… this is your reminder to include yourself.
As massage therapists, bodyworkers, caregivers, and wellness professionals, we spend so much of our time pouring into other people.
Our hands.
Our energy.
Our attention.
Our bodies.
And sometimes self-care becomes the thing we’ll get to “when we have time.”
Make the time.
Take the bath.
Turn off the phone.
Use the good products.
Light the candle.
Go to bed early.
Give your nervous system a moment where nothing is being asked of you.
You don’t have to earn rest.
🌹 Consider this your reminder to do something that feels good for you today. If you need me, I’m in my tub 🛁
Continuing to reminisce about my first night in San Antonio with Jess ✨
We decided the best way to start the trip was with nighttime pedicures, followed by wandering around and taking in a little of the city after dark.
Because yes, we went there for work… but I’m a firm believer that you have to make room for the experience, too.
A little self-care.
A little architecture.
A little exploring.
Not a bad way to say hello to San Antonio. 🤍
Your client gets off the table and says, “I’ve never felt like this after a massage before.”
And there’s a reason for that.
Cannabis massage isn’t about adding a trendy product to a treatment. It’s about understanding how to intentionally integrate plant-based topicals with skilled touch to create an entirely different client experience.
When you understand the why, the how, and the application behind cannabis massage, your hands can offer something your clients may genuinely have never experienced before.

More than a decade. 🤍
That’s how long this beautiful human has trusted me with her body, her care, and her time.
Over the years, clients become so much more than names on a schedule. You see each other through different seasons of life. You talk, you laugh, you grow—and somewhere along the way, a relationship forms that goes far beyond the treatment room.
And then she gave me this.
A YETI engraved with my Primal Therapeutics logo AND my initials. 🥹
I don’t think she could possibly know how much this meant to me.
In all my years of practice, this is genuinely one of the most thoughtful and meaningful gifts I’ve ever received from a client.
Not because it’s a beautiful water bottle, although it absolutely is, but because someone who has been part of my journey for more than a decade took the time to create something so personal for me.
To my sweet friend and longtime client: thank you. Thank you for this incredible gift, but even more, thank you for trusting me all these years. Being allowed to care for people through so many chapters of their lives is one of the greatest honors of doing this work.
I will treasure this. And yes, I will absolutely be carrying it everywhere. 🥹🤍
Sometimes people get emotional on the massage table.
Not because something went wrong.
Sometimes, when a person finally becomes still, receives caring touch, and has a moment where nothing is being asked of them, emotions show up.
And there is science behind the connection between massage and our emotional state.
Research has found massage and other forms of manual therapy can reduce anxiety and stress-related symptoms and affect physiological measures associated with relaxation and arousal.
But here’s an important distinction:
We often hear that massage “releases emotions stored in the muscles” or that crying means trauma is physically leaving the body.
That isn’t something science has established.
What we do know is that the body and mind aren’t separate experiences. Touch, pain, stress, emotion, safety, and our nervous system interact in incredibly complex ways.
So what if emotions happen on your table?
You don’t have to diagnose them.
You don’t have to explain them.
And you certainly don’t have to fix them.
Hold a safe, professional space. Let your client have their experience.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer is simply permission to feel. 🌿
📍San Antonio was a whole vibe.
I got to step on stage at Premiere Beauty and talk about something I’ve been practicing, teaching and advocating for long before cannabis wellness started finding its way into mainstream spa conversations:
Cannab!s + massage therapy.
How it fits into the treatment room.
Why touch matters.
Why education matters.
And why our industry should be part of this conversation.
But a work trip shouldn’t be ALL work.
So there was incredible food. San Antonio nightlife. Lots of laughing. A little exploring. And one very good human by my side helping make the whole thing happen.
I came home tired, inspired, and even more convinced that there is a place for cannabis in the future of massage and wellness.
Cannab!s massage is having a moment.
We’ve been here. 🌿
San Antonio 📍 Premiere Show Group
it has been an incredible two days in San Antonio! I have absolutely enjoyed everything about our time here. Please join me upstairs in room 211 for my final class of the conference..
My content on Meta platforms has been shadow banned for years and no one ever sees anything I post. Because of this it changes my desire to post anymore. Please 🙏 know, I am still here. Still massaging, still teaching, and now working on something I feel is way overdue. Can anyone guess what I might be working on?
05/05/2026
On 4/20 & 4/21 this year I had the honor of working an event for a massive group of higher education professionals.
I hit a personal record and gave the most chair/table massages I’ve done in a day in my 20 year career. I did 29 or 30 in 6 hours. We’re aren’t sure how many actually happened 😆
The three women I worked with were truly three of the hardest working people I’ve EVER met in my life. Working with each of them was a dream come true.
The opportunity was so much more than I can even describe.
Posting late, but still so very grateful. 🥹

Since the beginning of this business 4/20 has always been an important week.
It’s a time where I reminisce over memories that mean so very much. It’s also a time when clients that I’ve had for 12 years return to the Mile high city.
This incredible woman has been a supporter of primal from the very beginning. Over the years we have a created a friendship that means so much to me.
Yesterday we took a gorgeous walk in the park in 70° weather and now today it’s supposed to snow and be 35°. 😂 Gotta love Colorado in the Spring.
I hope your festivities are off to a great start and you make the most of this weekend. Consume responsibly. I know we will 😉
