No matter what you’re facing right now, keep going.
Some seasons will test your patience. Some days will test your faith. Some moments will make you wonder if you’re making any progress at all.
But don’t quit.
Keep showing up. Keep putting in the work. Keep believing, even when you can’t see the outcome yet.
God doesn’t waste the struggle. Every setback is preparing you for something greater than you can imagine. Stay faithful, stay consistent, and trust His timing.
Keep going. God is already working on what you’re praying for. ❤️🙏🏾

Every now and then, God gently reminds me that what I do is so much bigger than cutting hair.
About a month and a half ago, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. P for the first time. I gave him a haircut and shave, and what I didn’t realize at the time was how much that visit would mean to him. His daughter later shared with me that after that appointment, he talked about me for weeks and kept asking when I was coming back. Hearing that truly humbled me.
This past Thursday, we were finally reunited. We laughed, talked, shared another haircut and shave, and I left thankful for the opportunity to serve him once again. Like every client I visit, I simply wanted him to feel comfortable, respected, and cared for.
Just two days later, early Saturday morning, Mr. P peacefully passed away.
His daughter reached out to me afterward with a message that I will treasure for the rest of my life. She thanked me for the kindness I showed her father and their family. She shared that I had given him his final haircut and shave, that it made his day, and that he had been talking about our first visit for over a month before we found each other again. She also told me she would be praying for me and for 7CUTZABOVENC.
I sat quietly after reading her message, reflecting on how quickly life can change and how important it is to love people well while we have the opportunity.
It reminded me that people may not always remember every detail of a haircut, but they will always remember how you made them feel.
This is what “What Comes Before the Cut” truly means.
It’s about more than a haircut. It’s about preserving dignity, creating comfort, building trust, and reminding people they are loved. Whether I’m serving a child with autism, a veteran, a senior, or someone in the final chapter of life, every appointment is an opportunity to leave someone feeling valued, respected, and cared for.
To Mr.P family, thank you for trusting me with such a meaningful moment in your father’s life. It was truly an honor to serve Mr. P, and I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.
❤️ It’s never just a haircut. Sometimes, it’s a memory a family carries forever.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
I don’t know what God is cooking up, but whatever it is, I have a feeling it’s about to make me look around and say, “Now Lord… you really showed out on this one!”
Until then, I’m going to keep working, keep praying, and keep trusting.
God has a track record of doing way more than I expected. 💙🏁

🔥 WOW! What a day at the Juneteenth Celebration at Dix Park! 🔥
My heart is FULL! ❤️🖤💚
Today, 7CUTZABOVENC had the honor of being a vendor and connecting with so many incredible families from all across our community. We laughed, shared stories, made new friends, and most importantly, served people through the gift of confidence and care.
Every haircut is more than just a haircut—it’s a conversation, a connection, a smile, a boost of confidence, and sometimes even a breakthrough. Seeing the joy on faces and meeting families who believe in our mission reminded me exactly why I do this work.
To everyone who stopped by our booth, supported us, booked with us, or simply shared words of encouragement—THANK YOU! Your support means more than you know.
We’re not just cutting hair. We’re building relationships, creating safe spaces, and changing lives one haircut at a time. ✂️💙
Juneteenth was a celebration of freedom, community, culture, and unity—and I am grateful that 7CUTZABOVENC got to be a small part of such a beautiful day.
Until next time, Raleigh! 🙌🏾🏁

🖤❤️💚 Happy Juneteenth from 7CUTZABOVENC! ❤️💚🖤
Today, we celebrate freedom, resilience, culture, and the generations who paved the way for us to dream bigger, serve harder, and build lasting legacies.
As a Black-owned business, we are grateful for the opportunity to use our gifts to uplift our community, empower individuals with special needs, serve our veterans, and remind every person who sits in our chair that they are seen, valued, and worthy.
Juneteenth is more than a day off. It’s a reminder that freedom comes with responsibility—the responsibility to keep pushing forward, keep opening doors, and keep pouring into the next generation.
Today, we honor our ancestors by continuing the work.

💙✂️🏁 A reminder for anybody grinding toward a dream:
Stay consistent.
Not every seed grows the day you plant it. Not every prayer is answered overnight. Not every sacrifice shows immediate results.
But if you keep showing up…
Keep working…
Keep believing…
Keep putting one foot in front of the other…
The success you’ve been praying for will eventually blow your mind.
One day you’ll look around and realize that everything you once hoped for is becoming your reality.
Don’t quit. Don’t slow down. Stay consistent. Your breakthrough may be closer than you think. 🙏🏾💙

💙✂️ THIS IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO. ✂️💙
Today, I want to share a review that touched my heart.
A mom recently shared that her 8-year-old son is autistic, ADHD, mostly non-verbal, an eloper, and has always struggled with haircuts. What used to be one of the most stressful experiences for their family has now become something they actually look forward to.
When I arrived, he was having a difficult day. But instead of forcing him into a chair or expecting him to fit into a traditional barber shop experience, we met him where he was.
We walked.
We talked.
We moved when he needed to move.
We cut hair when he was comfortable.
Because at 7CUTZABOVENC, we understand that every child communicates differently, processes the world differently, and deserves to be treated with dignity, patience, and respect.
Seeing these handsome brothers smiling, relaxed, and confident after their haircuts reminds me that this work is so much bigger than hair.
💙 It’s about trust.
💙 It’s about connection.
💙 It’s about creating a safe space.
💙 It’s about making families feel seen and supported.
To this amazing mom, thank you for trusting me with your boys and for sharing your story. Your words mean more than you know.
