Honestly, it's not one specific thing.
It's the patient who finally did something they'd been thinking about for years. The one who comes back for their follow-up and just seems lighter somehow and more comfortable in their own skin. Confidence does that.
It changes how people carry themselves, how they engage with the world around them.
My hands are the tool, but the outcome is always personal. Every mark you see on a patient before surgery is a decision I've already thought through. By the time I'm here, the planning is done. Now it's just about executing it as well as I possibly can.
That's the part I take seriously. Every single time.
How do I know if my surgeon is actually qualified?
It's a fair concern. In most states, any licensed physician can legally perform cosmetic procedures regardless of their training background, even without dedicated surgical residency in the field.
The clearest indicator to look for is board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, along with membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Both require rigorous training standards and ongoing education within the specialty, and that information is publicly available to verify.

Chin projection and jawline definition often work together to shape how a profile reads. When the chin sits further back, it can throw off the balance of the nose, lips, and neckline, even when those features are otherwise proportionate on their own.

One of the most common conversations in consultation is around liposuction versus a tummy tuck, and a lot of patients come in saying they only want lipo.
Sometimes that's the right call. Good skin tone, localized fat, realistic expectations; liposuction can work really well for that. Younger patients and most men tend to respond well to it.
But for patients who've had children or significant weight changes, the skin has usually stretched beyond what lipo alone can address. The fat comes out, but the extra skin stays. And then we're looking at a second procedure to remove it.

Surgery is a team effort, and I think patients would be surprised by how much coordination goes into a single case.
But what ties all of it together, for me, is purpose. Everyone in this room knows we're not just here to perform a procedure. We're here because someone trusted us with something deeply personal โ their appearance, their confidence, their sense of self.
I've seen what a well-executed surgery can do for a person beyond the physical change. When someone feels good about how they look, it shows. It affects how they move through the world.
That's what makes this work worth doing.
A concern Dr. Reynolds hears often before eyelid surgery: will it change the shape of my eyes or make me look like a different person?
