Tamla Horsford :Tamla died after falling from a second-story deck during an overnight gathering with friends in Georgia. Authorities ruled her death an accident, but questions raised by her family and many members of the public have kept the case in the spotlight.

Kenneka Jenkins :The 19-year-old disappeared after attending a hotel party near Chicago and was later found dead inside a walk-in freezer. Her death was ruled an accident caused by hypothermia, but the circumstances surrounding her final hours continue to be widely discussed online. May they all rest in peace 🕊️💔

New York state has ordered cosmetology and hair styling schools to teach kinky, coily and curly hair care, with the updated curriculum required to be in place by September 2026.
The new rules require 10 hours of hair analysis covering all textures, 20 hours on natural hair care and styling including hydration and moisture treatments, and 18 hours specifically on textured hair styling services.
The law was co-authored by Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages and Senator Jamaal Bailey in 2023, partly in response to a discrimination lawsuit filed against an Ulta Beauty salon. It does not apply to currently licensed stylists, but schools that fail to comply could face disciplinary action and fines.

New York is not alone either. California, Minnesota, Connecticut, Louisiana, Washington, Vermont and Maine have all passed similar laws.
