Henna paste is created from the ground leaves of the henna plant, mixed with oils and acidic juices (lemon juice). Black color is derived from adding a chemical to the paste and is dangerous to the skin! Although henna is predominately used in South Asia and the Middle East to adorn brides during wedding ceremonies and in celebration of religious occasions, henna can also be applied to everyone for any day or any occasion!
