Hibiscus Cold Infusion for a quick pick me up .
Hibiscus is my guests favorite beverages when we have an event out
I’ve used Hibiscus for years whether it’s the Jamaican or Mexican version it’s been a staple in our home .
Normally , I do the brew method then later add other ingredients after the cooling off period such as aloe , cayenne , lemon juice and ginger .
In this reel I am just doing a simple cold infusion because I need the extra benefits of hibiscus.
Hibiscus is a natural immune booster and supports liver health . But did you know it also
supports heart health by lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol, aiding weight management by inhibiting fat cell formation. All of this is because it is a powerful antioxidant.
Hibiscus botanical name to make these beneficial beverages is Hibiscus sabdariffa . Also known as Roselle .
I used brown sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of hibiscus buds in a quart jar with distilled water . Infused for 2 hours .
If you want stronger and darker add 1-2 tablespoons more .
Rose season is upon us . We harvested rose petals or you can purchase organic rose buds online .
This simple rose infusion is an awesome tea with many wonderful benefits .
The scent is uplifting having a beautiful visual in a glass with ice .
Rose tea is an antioxidant-rich beverage which reduces stress, eases menstrual pain, and improves digestion. It promotes healthy skin, boosts immunity with high vitamin C levels, and helps hydrate the body.
Its anti-inflammatory properties may also aid heart health and reduce bloating.
It can be drunk hot, cold or as additive in red wines for a delicious treat.
Use your preferred sweetener but I used brown sugar because of texture and maple like flavor to enhance the taste of the rose buds .
I also used distilled water because it improves beverages taste .
Infuse for 1-2 hours . Serve with spritzer or over ice.
