What are everyone's opinions based on a la carte pricing for blonding services? I usually prefer all inclusive pricing for total product use. For example, I wouldn't price differently on a partial highlight to add a lowlight if the total of product use is the same. I love a "custom blonding" session where I can provide a price quote based on allotted color vs charging for each separate part of the service. I don't think a toner should be considered separate from the highlight. A starting at price for a highlight that just counts the lightener used is going to lead to sticker shock when the finished result wanted includes a lowlight, toner, and root tap as separate services. I like up front pricing, but what do you think?

July has been an absolutely crazy month. So much good change and I'm so absolutely grateful for everyone that made this July one to remember 🎆

This pixie is tapered in the back with softness around the neck. Extra layers and texture up top for movement. Petals of hair carved around the face to bring the focus where it belongs. Cut with my Shark Fin Shears and styled with Oribe swept up volume powder. ✌️

This could be part 1 of a thousand parts of hairstylist things I love 🩷

1. I love finding ways to save time without cutting quality and using the Colortrak grip clips save so much time when I'm highlighting because I don't have to keep reclipping the hair.
2. Framar dreamweaver combs 🫣 I still chuckle over a teacher bashing them in hair school as "cheating". Do they still take time and technique to weave the hair? yes. Do they help with less carpal tunnel action on the wrists? yes. Do my clients absolutely love the fact I can do a beautiful intricate baby light while also saving them some foiling time? yes. Time and wrist savers with no cut to quality.
3. EDUCATION! I love learning from people. Favorite thing to learn? the stuff that scares me. Haircuts were awful until I got more education and one day they just clicked. Of course there is always more to learn, but without investing in my haircutting education I wouldn't be the stylist known for great color AND cuts.
4. on the topic of haircutting let's talk feather razors. A lot of clients have had a bad experience with them pulling and shredding their hair. Each blade is $1. A fresh blade moves like butter and cuts with precision. Change the blade and change your client's minds about razor cuts.
5. Olivia Garden XL brushes have basically made me incapable of using shorter brushes because I'll start a blowdry and crave my longer brush. I have a ton of long and thick haired clients so these brushes really help me create a gorgeous blowout in less time.
