Our history is our story, past present and future all depend on what we do NOW. What we change and how we change it matters. History can be erasable if we choose to erase it.... it only exists in the records, photos, buildings and trees of the past. Our future and the understanding of who we are depends on our decisions today. Any time we erase history, in any form, we erase ourselves. History teaches us the ills of the past and the victories... so we may move forward wiser and stronger and learn from the mistakes in hopes not to repeat them.

We must seek to protect and provide for the things that make us great. The tree lined streets for example, where you can close your eyes and still hear the horse drawn carts coming down the road. We as humans were given dominion over the things of this Earth, not domination. These are two very different words.

We must seek the truth in our hearts and hold sacred what is sacred. Growth can’t be stopped but the boundaries to that growth can be dictated. We have a responsibility to this community, to find the balance, where growth isn’t destruction, but preservation and progress.

Those of us who understand these values seek to maintain the integrity of what our past has so kindly left us, the homes and the trees of Green Street. We can’t sit quietly by, as those who are not truly visionaries direct the progress. We who own these homes and live with the silent echos of the trees and the walls of these houses stand together.

The special qualities of our town and traditions of gathering and honoring our small but growing community rely on people now, standing up for what is right, allowing for progress but leaving the history in tact for our future generations. What story do we want to tell? We will be the ones who can make a difference. - Teryl W.

Today, our hearts are heavy at The Spa on Green Street as we mourn the loss of a dear friend of our spa family, Martha Zoller.

Martha’s presence in our community was truly special. She was a champion for local businesses, a voice of encouragement, and someone who cared deeply about the people around her. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support touched countless lives, including ours.

We are grateful for the conversations, laughter, and memories we shared with Martha through the years. Her impact on Gainesville and beyond will not be forgotten.

Please join us in keeping Martha’s family, friends, and all who loved her in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you, Martha, for the light you brought into this world and for the difference you made in our community. You will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. ❤️
