📚 Helping us parents Understand Our Kids’ Big Feelings
Maybe your foot or finger taps.
Maybe your whole body feels like it needs to MOVE.
That’s a body clue. 🔎
And sometimes noticing the body clue is the first step toward understanding the feeling underneath it.
Body check: What does YOUR body do when you can’t wait?

Sometimes the first clue isn’t a word.
It might be a clenched jaw.
A racing heart.
A restless body.
A deep breath you didn’t realize you were holding.
And sometimes, we notice those things in our children only after we’ve already reacted to them.
I’m learning to pause and check my own body, too.
Because the more curious I become about what’s happening inside me, the more space I have to become curious about what’s happening inside my child.
That’s the kind of emotional learning I want to create with Mother of Stories.
Not getting every feeling “right.”
Just slowing down enough to listen.
🔎 Try a Body Check with your child today — and try one for yourself, too.
Did you see the clue? 👀🍦
Our kids have body clues. So do we 🙋🏾♀️.
Sometimes our bodies notice a feeling before we have the words for it. The more we practice spotting our own clues, the easier it can be to notice them in our children, too. 💙

🤷🏾♀️Even the person making calm videos has big feelings.
Sometimes I feel frustrated.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed.
Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever finish recording.
Then I remember…
Big feelings aren’t a sign to quit. They’re a chance to pause, breathe, and begin again.
I’m learning right alongside the children and parents I create these stories for.
If you’ve had a day where everything felt harder than it should, you’re not alone. 🤍

🤷🏾♀️Parenting has made me notice something…
My kids aren’t the only ones with big feelings.
I’m still learning mine too. 💜
