Hi! Iโm Catherin Young, the nail tech behind The Hue Hippie ๐
๐ผ Hereโs a little bit about me:
๐ My favorite color is blue.
โ๏ธ My current drink obsession is the sugar-free Smash Melon from The Human Bean โ but I also LOVE a good light roast black coffee.
๐ถ My dogโs name is Latte (yes, the coffee obsession runs deep ๐).
๐ On my days off, you can probably find me hanging out in a coffee shop simply for the vibes.
๐๏ธ I love traveling in my car, tent camping whenever I get the chance, and exploring new places.
๐ฅพ Hiking is one of my favorite ways to spend my free time.
๐ Next year, I plan to attend CMU and explore what I want to pursue for my bachelorโs degree!
Moving to Grand Junction and starting over has been such an adventure, and Iโm so thankful I get to call this beautiful city home. ๐
And of courseโฆ I LOVE doing nails. After 8 years in the industry, Iโm still just as excited about creating beautiful nails, helping people grow their natural nails, and getting to know the person sitting across from me.

One month in. ๐ค
If I could describe my first month building a business from zero in a brand-new city and state, Iโd use one word: humbled.
This is hard.
A lot of it is sitting. Waiting. Hoping. Praying. Wondering when the next booking will come in and reminding myself why I started in the first place.
But I love what I do. Iโm passionate about what Iโm building. And instead of letting this first month discourage me, Iโm going to let it push me forward with even more enthusiasm.
To every friend who has encouraged me, shared my work, booked with me, cheered me on, or simply reminded me to keep goingโthank you. ๐ค
Iโm not giving up.
I believe in what Iโm building, even while itโs small. I believe the waiting will be worth it. And I believe there will come a day when I look back at these quiet first months and realize they were building me just as much as I was building my business.
And if believing in something before you can see the results makes me a little crazyโฆ
Well, I think some of the best business owners probably started out a little crazy too. ๐
