Sometimes the basics are the most powerful thing you can do for your skin. ๐Ÿฉต

This is one of the biggest skincare myths I see every single summer!โ˜€๏ธ

A lot of people notice their skin looks better after spending time in the sun and assume it's helping their acne. Here's what's actually happening.

Sun exposure temporarily dries out the skin and makes breakouts look less red and inflamed. It feels like it's working. But a week or two later your skin overcompensates by producing more oil and the breakouts come back worse than before.

On top of that, sun exposure makes post acne marks and hyperpigmentation significantly darker and harder to fade. And if you're using any active ingredients like retinol or acids, skipping SPF makes your skin even more vulnerable.

The sun is not a treatment. SPF and a real skincare routine are.

If you want to figure out what your skin actually needs this summer, send me a message and let's talk ๐Ÿค

One of the biggest things Iโ€™ve learned as an esthetician and acne specialist is that monthly treatments alone donโ€™t clear acne, consistency at home does. โœจ

Professional treatments are an important part of the process, but what you do every day between appointments has the biggest impact on your results.

Using the right products consistently, staying patient, and following a customized routine is what helps create long-term change! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Let's talk about something I wish more people understood before giving up on their skincare routine! ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Your skin goes through a full renewal cycle roughly every 28 days, and that number slows down as you get older. That means when you start a new product or come in for a facial, your skin needs time to actually go through that process before you see real results.

One week is not enough. One facial is a great start but it's not the whole story.

Here is what happens during a skin cycle:
Your skin is constantly shedding old cells and replacing them with new ones. New products need at least one full cycle before you can really judge if they are working. For lasting results like clearing acne, fading dark spots, or improving texture, your skin needs repeated treatment across multiple cycles.

Good skin is not a one time thing, it's a commitment. And I'm here to help you figure out exactly what your skin needs to make every cycle count!!

Send me a message and let's get started ๐Ÿค

Dry and Dehydrated skin get mixed up all the time and they actually require completely different approaches๐Ÿค”

Knowing which one youโ€™re dealing with makes all the difference! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

The best SPF is the one you actually apply correctly. โ˜€๏ธ

Most people are only applying 25โ€“50% of the recommended amount, which can cut your sun protection dramatically no matter what number is on the bottle.

The rule is simple: apply generously, reapply every 2 hours, and don't forget your ears, neck, and hands. A well-applied SPF 30 will protect you better than a poorly applied SPF 50 every single time. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
