What a Saturday🎇

A market regular came back for another body butter and told me her husband used to call her feet hooves. Past tense 💃🏻 She said they are so soft now she cannot believe it. I live for updates like that! And this time the husband got Full Service for himself! Self care is so manly 🔥

A woman came shopping for her sister and was looking for something to reduce dark spots. I want to be honest with everyone about this. Oh and I was in a new spot this week, under the pavilion. No tent, no breeze and my backdrop was the back of my Volvo instead of the streets of downtown Edmond. A little less vibey than normal but we made it work. 😅

We ate banana bread, carrot cake, strawberry cake and banana pudding from daughtysdelights and we were absolutely slamming tipsygypsydrinktrucks aqua frescas because it was HOT. 💦🍓🫐

The Liberty Fest parade brought a whole new crowd through the market and it was so fun to meet people who had never been before. New faces, new conversations, new friends and totally ‘Merica outfits🇺🇸

🧐 How do you use your Menthol Body Butter?

I seem to be finding more and more uses as the summer continues 🥵

This morning I put it on my arms before my walk and it felt so awesome to have that menthol chill while sweating in this heat❄️

My new friend Janet whacked me on the arm and said “you don't know anyone in Guthrie!” She had been naming names and I didn't recognize a single one. She had no idea we were actually new here. Like, really new. So I figured it was time to share the real story.

In 2022 we sold our suburban home in Edmond and moved into a hunting trailer on 80 acres in Guthrie. I needed space. Trees, privacy, room to breathe. It felt crazy at the time but we did it anyway. I remember painting the trailer walls the same creamy white from our last custom home and sobbing. What had I done? I told Matt we could always resell if this did not work out.

A few months in, Matt bought a Razor. One night it flipped and his left arm was hanging on by a thread. Our entire life shifted overnight. I became a full time nurse caring for my husband while his only job was to rest and heal. We did not leave the house except for doctor visits and surgeries, for years. We were technically Guthrie residents but we were not really living here. Not yet.

During that time Matt would be set up on the couch watching TV or resting, and I would be in the kitchen learning how to render tallow. I spent hours practicing different combinations of tallow, butters and oils, filling pages and pages with notes and formulas. Looking back, that season of caring for him is where Frena began.

It was not until I started going to the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce Coffees in October of 2025 that I actually started meeting people. I loved this town long before I knew anyone in it. Now I am getting to know the people too, and I love it even more. Matt and I are so thrilled to finally be a real part of this community.
