🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 21/30
My chair is a NO-JUDGMENT zone. ❤️
Some days we laugh until we cry. 😂
Some days we talk about life, family, and everything in between.
And some days, you just need a little peace and quiet.
And guess what? It’s ALL okay with me.
No judgment. No pressure. No need to apologize for your roots, your hair, or how long it’s been since your last appointment.
Just a place where you can relax, be yourself, and let someone take care of YOU for a change.
Because yes, I want you to leave with beautiful hair…
But I also want you to leave feeling a little better than when you walked in. ❤️

🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 20/30
Behind every strong woman is a story… and people who helped her become who she is. ❤️
30 years in this industry, and I’ve had so many incredible people support me along the way.
But today I want to recognize someone who’s been beside me through so many chapters of my life.
My husband. ❤️
Through raising a family, building a business, celebrating the wins, and navigating the not-so-easy moments.
Life isn’t always perfect. Marriage isn’t always easy. And we’ve certainly had our share of challenges.
But there’s something special about growing through life together.
Success isn’t just about what you accomplish. It’s about the people who stand beside you while you’re figuring it all out.
And I’m grateful for the life we’ve built together. ❤️

🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 19/30
50 years old, 30 years behind the chair, and still laughing my way through life! 😂✂️
Nobody warned me about turning 50!
The hot flashes, the forgetfulness, the random aches and pains, and a body that seems to have a mind of its own! 😂
But you know what?
I’m learning to embrace it ALL.
I’m more confident, a little wiser, and care a whole lot less about what other people think.
Do I love everything about getting older? HECK NO! 😂
But I’m still learning, still growing, and most importantly, still laughing!
Because getting older is inevitable, but losing your sense of humor is optional! ❤️
Who’s laughing their way through this chapter with me? 🙋♀️
🍂 Day 19/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 18/30
Sometimes it’s more than just hair. ❤️
After 30 years behind the chair, one of my favorite things is watching someone embrace a change.
Sometimes it’s a few highlights, a fresh haircut, or something completely different!
Like this transformation! 😍✂️
A big chop, a richer color, and a whole new look.
But here’s what I’ve learned…
It’s not always about the inches we cut or the color we create.
It’s about how someone FEELS when they leave my chair.
That little boost of confidence, the excitement of something new, and that feeling of doing something just for YOU.
And honestly? That’s why I still love what I do after all these years.
A little change on the outside can sometimes feel like a fresh start on the inside. ❤️
🍂 Day 18/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 17/30
You can have a big heart and still have boundaries. ❤️
This one has taken me 50 years to figure out! 😂
I’ve spent so much of my life trying to make everyone happy. Being the best mom, wife, friend, hairstylist, business owner…and everything in between.
But somewhere along the way, I realized I was saying YES to everyone else and sometimes NO to myself.
At 50, I’m learning that protecting my peace is just as important as taking care of the people I love.
I don’t have to say yes to everything, explain every decision, or feel guilty for putting myself first sometimes.
Do I still struggle with this? ABSOLUTELY! 😂
But I’m learning.
Saying NO doesn’t mean you care any less. Sometimes it means you’re finally learning to care for yourself, too. ❤️
Anyone else still working on this one? 🙋♀️
🍂 Day 17/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 16/30
30 years in…and I’m STILL learning. ❤️
You’d think after 30 years in the beauty industry, I’d have it all figured out.
NOPE! 😂
I’ve been a hairstylist, educator, mentor, business owner, and student. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the minute you think you know everything is the minute you stop growing.
I’ve had the privilege of learning from some incredible people, but I’ve also learned just as much from my clients, my students, fellow stylists, and even my mistakes.
Looking at this picture reminds me of something I’ve always believed…
Never stop asking WHY.
Why does something work? Why can we do it better? Why not try something new?
At 50, I’m still curious, still challenging myself, and still excited about what’s next.
Because no matter how much experience you have, there’s always something new to learn.
You can be the teacher and still be the student. ❤️
And I hope I never stop being both.
🍂 Day 16/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 15/30
Halfway there! ❤️
And today I’m thinking about my people.
This picture makes me smile because believe it or not…
This is only a LITTLE bit of my family. 😂❤️
And this doesn’t even include my circle of friends.
Can you imagine how many people I love?! 😂
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how incredibly lucky I am to have so many people in my life to love — family, friends, people I’ve worked with, clients who have become friends, and people I’ve collected along the way.
Not everyone in your life has the same role.
There are the people you talk to every day.
The ones you may not see for months, but when you do, you pick up right where you left off.
The ones who make you laugh until you cry.
The ones who show up when life gets hard.
The ones who celebrate your wins.
And the ones who have known you through MANY different versions of yourself. 😂❤️
At 50, I’m realizing more and more that one of the greatest measures of a beautiful life isn’t what you’ve accomplished or what you’ve accumulated.
It’s the people you’ve loved along the way.
And wow…have I been lucky in that department.
My table might need to be REALLY big. 😂
But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here’s to family, chosen family, lifelong friends, new friends, and all the people who make our lives fuller simply by being in them. ❤️
🍂 Day 15/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 14/30
Want to know something I’ve learned after 30 years of doing hair?
A great haircut starts BEFORE I ever pick up my scissors. ✂️
It starts with a conversation.
How do you style your hair at home?
How much time are you REALLY willing to spend on it in the morning? 😂
What do you love about your hair?
What drives you absolutely crazy?
And when you say, “Just take an inch off”…what does an inch mean to YOU? Because we’ve all learned that lesson. 😂✂️
One of the biggest things 30 years behind the chair has taught me is that doing great hair isn’t just about technique.
It’s about listening.
I can give you the most technically perfect haircut in the world, but if it doesn’t work with your lifestyle, your texture or the amount of effort you’re willing to put into it at home…
It’s not the right haircut for YOU.
Trends are fun.
But a solid foundation, a thorough consultation and a haircut that actually works when I’M not standing behind you?
That’s what matters.
Because my goal isn’t for your hair to look amazing only when you leave my chair.
I want you to be able to love it on a random Tuesday morning, too. ❤️
🍂 Day 14/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 13/30
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought…
“Where did I go?”
This one is for the woman who hasn’t felt quite like herself lately. ❤️
Maybe your body has changed.
Maybe life has gotten really busy.
Maybe you’re taking care of kids, parents, a spouse, a business…everyone except yourself.
Or maybe nothing is necessarily wrong — you just don’t quite recognize the woman looking back at you anymore.
I’ve felt that.
And at 50, I’m realizing something I wish I would’ve understood sooner.
For a while, I thought I needed to get back to the woman I USED to be.
But maybe I’m not supposed to.
Maybe I’m supposed to get to know the woman I’m becoming.
She’s older.
She’s changed.
She’s been through some things.
She’s stronger in some ways and softer in others.
She doesn’t have everything figured out — not even close. 😂
But she’s still dreaming. Still growing. Still trying new things. Still learning how to take care of herself while taking care of everyone she loves.
And I’m starting to realize…
I don’t want the old me back.
I’m ready to get to know THIS version of me. ❤️
So if you haven’t felt like yourself lately, maybe you haven’t lost yourself at all.
Maybe you’re just meeting the next version of you.
And she deserves a chance. 🤎
🍂 Day 13/30 — Fall Thoughts From the Chair
🍂 FALL THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIR — DAY 12/30
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to be STRONG.
I used to think strong meant having everything under control.
Getting everything done.
Taking care of everyone.
Pushing through when I was tired.
And definitely not letting anyone know when I was struggling.
At 50, strong looks a little different to me.
Strong is taking care of my body because I want it to carry me through the next 30+ years.
It’s going to the gym even when I’m not feeling motivated.
But it’s ALSO knowing when I need to rest.
It’s setting boundaries.
It’s asking for help.
It’s saying, “I’m having a hard day” instead of pretending everything is fine.
And sometimes strength is simply getting up the next morning and trying again.
My fitness journey has taught me something I wasn’t expecting…
I started because I wanted to change my body.
But somewhere along the way, I started changing the way I see myself. ❤️
I’m still a work in progress.
My body isn’t perfect. My life isn’t perfect. And I definitely don’t have everything figured out.
But I’m stronger than I used to be — and I’m not just talking about the weights I can lift. 💪🏼❤️
Maybe that’s what getting older is really about.
Not becoming perfect.
Becoming stronger, wiser and a little kinder to yourself along the way.
