Before your install, make sure you discuss everything with your stylist—your trim, protective style options, and home care routine. A great stylist should take the time to answer your questions and make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. If they don’t, it may be time to find a new one.

One of my favorite things is seeing clients trust the process and invest in the full service from start to finish. It shows not only their confidence in me as a stylist, but also their willingness to begin a healthy hair journey, wherever it may lead. ✨

My Girl 💕 didn’t like her hair.

As stylists, parents, and mentors, we never truly know what our children are seeing when they scroll social media, watch cartoons, or sit through movies. Sometimes those messages can make them question the beauty they were born with.

That’s why it’s so important that we affirm our Black daughters daily. Their beauty isn’t found in the length of their hair, the texture of their curls, or the style they wear. Their beauty comes from who they are.

Shoutout to this amazing mama for making sure her daughter knows she’s beautiful inside and out. 💕 She isn’t just investing in her hair—she’s investing in her confidence, her self-love, and her identity.

As a hairstylist, one of my biggest priorities is helping my clients maintain healthy hair. Over the years, I’ve become increasingly mindful of the products and chemicals we use and how they may affect not only our hair but our overall well-being.

Today, 90% of my clients wear their hair naturally, and I love helping them explore the versatility that natural hair offers. From silk presses to twist-outs, updos, and protective styles, healthy hair gives us so many options.

For my natural clients who love a good silk press, I often recommend protective styles during the summer months. Not necessarily braids, but styles that help protect the hair from humidity, excessive heat, and unnecessary manipulation.

With the increase in hair loss we’re seeing in the African American community, I believe education and healthy hair practices are more important than ever. My goal is to help my clients make informed decisions and maintain strong, healthy hair while limiting exposure to harsh chemicals whenever possible.

Healthy hair is always the goal. ❤️
