“The Heart is the sovereign. Clarity and spirit shine from it.” — Huangdi Neijing, 2,000 years ago 💚
Today is World Mental Health Day.
In the old medicine, anxiety was never “all in your head.” The Heart houses the shen — your spirit, your settled presence. When the shen is rooted, you feel like yourself: clear, steady, at home. When it is unrooted — restlessness, dread, the 3 AM spiral.
Two thousand years later, we still treat the whole person — body and mind.
Beatriz Gutiérrez, MSN, APRN, PMHNP— compassionate, judgment-free psychiatric care for adults, teens, and children. In person and by telehealth. Now accepting new patients.

Research Spotlight 🔬 — Acupuncture + IVF: what does the science say?
A May 2026 review pooled 22 clinical trials — 2,299 women with PCOS going through IVF or ICSI.
Women who added acupuncture saw: +13% clinical pregnancy rate · +15% live birth rate · more optimal embryos · lower medication doses — with no increased risk of OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome) seen in the review.
Researchers think acupuncture may support IVF through blood flow, inflammation, and hormone balance — though the exact mechanisms still need more study.

One facial acupuncture and red light session: microcirculation awakened, jaw tension released, skin left with that post-treatment glow. No injectables. Little to no downtime — occasional minor bruising at needle points is possible and fades within days. Just your skin, supported the natural way.

Those little “11” lines between your brows? Facial acupuncture is getting researchers’ attention. ✨
A 2025 randomized study involving 72 women ages 30–59 compared facial and body acupuncture with a no-treatment group.
After 12 sessions over 6 weeks:
🌿 63% of the acupuncture group showed improvement in frown lines at rest.
🌿 72% showed improvement while frowning.
🌿 Improvements were still observed at the week-12 follow-up.
These percentages describe how many participants improved—not how much their wrinkles decreased.
Encouraging early findings, with more research needed: this was a small study without a sham-acupuncture comparison, and it did not evaluate nanoneedling.

Menopause can affect more than your cycle—it can affect how you feel emotionally, too. 💛
Anxiety, irritability, low mood, and mental exhaustion deserve attention.
A study featured in MedPage Today found that women starting menopausal hormone therapy reported improvements in mood symptoms and sleep after an average of 4.5 months.
An encouraging finding, with an important limit: this observational study cannot prove that hormone therapy caused the improvements. Hormone therapy is not FDA-approved to treat mood disorders, and care should be tailored to your symptoms and health history.
You deserve to feel heard—and supported through this transition.
