π¦ A Quokka's Perspective
Which thought would your nervous system rather hear?
β "I'm just not good at this."
β
"I'm still learning."
Have you ever noticed how quickly we label ourselves?
One difficult moment...
One mistake...
One challenge...
..and suddenly it becomes, "I'm just not good at this."
That little sentence can quietly convince our nervous system that it's safer to stop trying.
But what happens if we shift it?
"I'm still learning."
Take a moment and notice how each statement feels in your body.
Does one make your shoulders tighten?
Does the other leave just a little more room to breathe?
"I'm still learning" doesn't ignore the struggle.
It simply reminds your nervous system that today's challenge doesn't define tomorrow's ability.
Learning isn't about getting it right the first time.
It's about giving your brain and nervous system repeated opportunities to practice, adapt, and grow.
This week, whenever you catch yourself saying,
"I'm just not good at this..."
pause...
and gently add,
β¨ "I'm still learning."
Then notice what happens.
Not just in your thoughts...
but in your body.
β€οΈ Small shifts. Gentle practice.

βοΈ Cloud Watching
Angela stretched out in the grass.
Matilda pointed with her paw.
"What do you see?"
For a little while...
there was nothing to solve.
No emails.
No schedules.
No rushing to the next thing.
Just clouds becoming dragons...
boats...
faces...
and whatever else their imaginations could find.
Our brains spend so much of the day focused on problems, plans, and responsibilities.
Imagination invites us somewhere different.
It gently shifts us from constant problem-solving into possibility.
Sometimes the most supportive thing you can do for your nervous system...
is look up.
π When was the last time you let your imagination wander?

Most of us don't notice our nervous system until it's asking for our attention.
We're exhausted.
Overwhelmed.
Frustrated.
Tearful.
Shut down.
By then, our nervous system has been trying to get our attention for quite some time.
The challenge isn't learning to notice when we're at a 9 or a 10.
Most of us can recognize that.
The real practice is learning to notice when we're just beginning to move away from regulation.
Maybe your breathing changes.
Maybe your shoulders tighten.
Maybe you become a little less patient.
Maybe your thoughts begin to speed up.
Those early moments are easy to dismiss because they don't seem important.
But they are.
They're often the place where small adjustments can make the biggest difference.
You don't have to wait until you're overwhelmed to support yourself.
πΏ Today, pause for a moment and ask yourself:
"Where am I on my nervous system scale right now?"
Not to judge yourself.
Simply to notice.
I am the Moss...

π¦ A Quokka's Perspective
Which thought would your nervous system rather hear?
β "I'm behind."
β
"I'm moving at the pace I can today."
"Behind" is one of those words that can quietly put our nervous system on high alert.
Suddenly, we're not just thinking about today.
We're worrying about yesterday...
stressing about tomorrow...
and feeling like we're failing somewhere in between.
But what if you're not behind?
What if you've simply been carrying more than most people can see?
Life isn't a race where everyone starts at the same place or travels the same path.
Some days you'll move quickly.
Some days you'll move slowly.
Some days, simply showing up is enough.
Reminding yourself, "I'm moving at the pace I can today," doesn't lower your standards.
It lowers unnecessary pressure.
And when the nervous system feels less pressure, it often has more capacity to think clearly, solve problems, and keep moving forward.
This week, notice when the thought "I'm behind" shows up.
Then ask yourself:
β¨ Behind...or simply on my own path?
β€οΈ Small shifts. Gentle practice.

π Take the Long Way Home
They came to an intersection.
Matilda flipped a coin.
Left.
No destination.
Just exploring.
We often think we need a big adventure to wake us up.
But our nervous system responds to something much smallerβnovelty.
Taking a different street.
Stopping to notice a mural.
Trying a new coffee shop.
Walking without a destination.
Curiosity gently interrupts autopilot.
And when we're curious, there's a little less room for chronic stress.
Maybe today, instead of taking the fastest way home...
take the interesting one.
π Where could you add a little curiosity to your day?

We often think change comes from doing something big.
A long meditation.
A perfect morning routine.
A weekend retreat.
One really good day.
But your nervous system learns differently.
It learns through repetition.
Each time you pause before reacting...
Each time you notice your breath...
Each time you soften your shoulders...
Each time you check in instead of pushing through...
you're teaching your nervous system something new.
Those moments may only last a few seconds.
But they add up.
Your nervous system isn't looking for perfection.
It's looking for repeated experiences that tell it,
"This is safe."
"This is different."
"We can do this again."
πΏ Don't underestimate the power of one small practice repeated often. Sometimes the smallest moments become the strongest patterns.
