Phosphatidylcholine is one of the building blocks your brain depends on every day.

It helps form healthy cell membranes and provides choline, which the brain uses to make acetylcholine—the neurotransmitter involved in memory, learning, and focus. It may also support the blood-brain barrier, the gut-brain connection, and healthy inflammatory balance.

The research is encouraging. In one long-term Finnish study, men with the highest dietary phosphatidylcholine intake had a 28% lower risk of developing dementia than those with the lowest intake and performed better on measures of memory and verbal fluency. In the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging, higher blood levels were associated with slower amyloid buildup, less brain shrinkage, and slower cognitive decline over time. These are associations, not guarantees—but they are signals worth understanding.

Phosphatidylcholine levels also naturally decline in our cells as we age. Supporting those levels—through food, oral supplementation, or IV therapy—may help support brain health, cellular function, liver health, and long-term wellness.

At Rezilir Health®, IV phosphatidylcholine therapy can be customized with complementary nutrients and antioxidants, including glutathione, based on individual health goals.

What happens when you treat cognitive decline the way precision medicine treats other complex conditions — personalized, root-cause, measured over time?

A recent controlled trial called Evanthea set out to test that question. Seventy-three participants with mild cognitive impairment; one group received a personalized protocol targeting their individual contributors to decline, the other received standard care.

Over nine months, the precision-medicine group showed meaningful improvement on measures of cognition, while the standard-care group did not. These are early findings from a preprint still moving through peer review — not a finished verdict, and not a promise of results for any individual. But they're the kind of signal that's hard to ignore.

Rezilir Health was one of the trial sites, led by Dr. Craig Tanio, a co-investigator on the study alongside Dr. Dale Bredesen.

We'll keep sharing what this research does — and doesn't yet — tell us.

Chronic fatigue isn't just feeling tired. It's cellular.

Denise Nonelle, APRN, FNP-BC, on how inhaled hydrogen therapy at Rezilir is designed to work at the mitochondrial level — and why patients with autoimmune illness and chronic fatigue are some of the people she sees benefit from it.

Here's something that doesn't get said enough: mild cognitive impairment isn't always a one-way street.

In population studies, up to 1 in 3 people with MCI revert to normal cognition. And separately, researchers estimate that close to half of dementia risk is tied to factors that are potentially modifiable across a lifetime.

None of that means decline is guaranteed to reverse, or that any single step is a fix. But it does reframe the stakes. The period of subtle, early changes is exactly the window where careful evaluation and action tend to matter most.

Waiting for symptoms to become undeniable gives that window away.

If you've noticed changes worth understanding, earlier is almost always better. Learn more at www.rezilirhealth.com.

There's no single cause of cognitive decline — so it makes sense there's no single cure.

Emerging research increasingly points to something conventional care wasn't built for: in the vast majority of people, decline isn't one disease. It's several processes overlapping — vascular, inflammatory, metabolic, nutritional, and environmental.

That's part of why single-target approaches have been so hard to translate into meaningful results. When the problem has many roots, one lever rarely does enough.

A precision-medicine approach starts somewhere different: identify the specific contributors driving one person's decline, address them together, then re-measure and adjust over time.

Not one cause. Not one fix. A pattern — mapped and worked, thoughtfully.

Fresh produce is still one of the healthiest choices you can make. But “washed” does not always mean every risk is gone.

Contamination can happen long before fruits and vegetables reach your kitchen — through irrigation water, wildlife, harvesting equipment, worker hygiene, packaging, or transportation. That is why careful washing matters, but also why it has limits.

For most produce, the evidence-supported approach is refreshingly simple: rinse under cool running water, rub the surface gently, use a clean brush on firm produce, and dry it with a clean towel.

Specialty methods such as baking soda soaks, electrolysis, ozone, and ultrasonic cleaners may offer limited benefits in certain situations. But current evidence does not show that they consistently outperform careful washing under running water.

And when produce is recalled, washing is not the answer. It should be discarded.

The goal is not to make fresh food feel frightening. It is to understand what good kitchen habits can do — and what they cannot.

A while back, we shared why hearing deserves a place in the brain health conversation. This month, the World Health Organization made it official — hearing care is now part of its formal guidelines for reducing dementia risk.
The mechanism is quietly powerful: when your brain works overtime to decode muffled sound, it pulls resources away from memory and thinking. Over years, that adds up. And unlike some risk factors, this one is highly modifiable.
If you've been putting off getting your hearing checked, consider this your sign — it may be doing more for your brain than you realize.
