Imagine strolling down Bathhouse Row more than a century ago, when gentlemen wore their finest suits and hats, ladies took leisurely walks beneath the trees, and the healing thermal waters of Hot Springs drew visitors from across the country.

And there, standing proudly along this beautiful boulevard, was the Buckstaff Bathhouse, welcoming its first guests in February 1912.

So much has changed since this photograph was taken, but one thing remains the same: the Buckstaff’s place in the story of Hot Springs and its remarkable thermal waters. ❤️

For more than 114 years, the Buckstaff has welcomed visitors to experience the tradition of Hot Springs’ thermal waters. But behind every guest experience is something even more important: our people. 💙

We are incredibly proud of our employees, many of whom have dedicated years, even decades, to the Buckstaff. Their hard work, kindness, knowledge, and commitment have helped make this place special for generations of visitors.

This vintage brochure captures the beauty of our mountain town nearly 90 years ago, when visitors came from across the country to experience the natural beauty, historic architecture, and legendary thermal waters of Hot Springs National Park.

And right there in the heart of it all? The Buckstaff.

Since February 1, 1912, the Buckstaff has welcomed guests to experience the traditional thermal mineral baths, carrying on a bathing tradition that has been part of Hot Springs for generations.

Nearly nine decades after this brochure was printed, the mountains remain, the thermal waters still flow, and the Buckstaff's doors are still open.

Some traditions are simply timeless. 💙

A little time travel to 1941! 💚

We came across this wonderful brochure promoting Hot Springs National Park as “America’s Health and Pleasure Resort.” The vintage pages celebrate the thermal waters, the history of bathing in Hot Springs, and the bathhouses that welcomed visitors from across the country.

More than 85 years later, the story of the Buckstaff is still being told through the same building, the same natural thermal waters, and a bathing tradition that has connected generations of visitors to Hot Springs.

Some things are simply timeless. 🛁

Phyllis Diller knew how to make an entrance.

According to our former longtime Buckstaff employee Donna Woolard, when the famous comedian came to the Buckstaff, she wanted to keep a low profile. She arrived wearing a mask so no one would recognize her.

The staff knew exactly who she was, of course. But they were instructed to treat her just like any other guest.

The Birding Festival of the South takes flight in Hot Springs October 8–10, with field trips, trails, workshops and plenty of opportunities to get your binoculars working overtime.

When your feet are tired, your back is complaining and you've counted approximately 47 warblers, come see us at the Buckstaff.

Trade your binoculars for a bath. Our thermal mineral water has been flowing through the Buckstaff for more than a century.

Because even birders need to unruffle their feathers. 😉
