ChòpnBlok is truly a breath of fresh air from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The aesthetic feels like stepping into a cool, modern museum you’ve always wanted to visit — artful, inspiring, and full of energy. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with Black art, Black literature, and curated pieces, all of which are available for purchase so you can take a little piece of the ChòpnBlok home with you.

The service is absolutely impeccable. From the moment we were greeted to the very last bite, every interaction felt genuine, thoughtful, and warm — like being hosted by old friends who just happen to be amazing at what they do. The masterful mashup music that is unique to this specific slice of heaven will have you asking for a playlist and unsuccessfully shazaming every sound that leaks from the speakers. They have skillfully crafted a welcoming atmosphere make you feel like you’re right at home, like you’re hanging out in the most beautiful living room with the best group of people on a perfect summer night. If I could bottle all of this up and take it home, my guests would never leave!

The menu is just as exciting; everything sounds so good that choosing becomes the hardest part! But no matter what you order, you’re guaranteed to be satisfied. In picture #1, you’ll see my custom bowl — I asked the bartender to surprise me, and he created a masterpiece that encompasses the best they have to offer with Liberian rice and greens, Blok Chicken, Yaji Vegetables, Motherland Curry, and Roadside Steak. A 10/10 experience — I’ll definitely be getting it again!

Bowl #2 is the Black Star, and Bowl #3 is the Buka. For drinks, I had the Calabash Colada — so good it deserves its own shoutout: another 10/10!

For appetizers, we went with the Polo Club Suya (10/10), Coconut Chicken Bites (9/10), and Ripe Plantains (9/10). Every single dish was packed with bold, delicious flavors.

Overall, ChòpnBlok is easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had — from the food, to the service, to the vibe — and I would recommend it ten times over!
