Thank you to our friends at Barrio Dogs for gathering us to advocate for safer neighborhoods by asking City of Houston City Council to fund BARC and so we can walk safely!

Today was our final opportunity to provide public remarks before the City Council budget is passed. Several individuals and advocacy groups gathered to support the BARC budget while ensuring the Mayor and City Council members understand the true magnitude of our city’s stray animal crisis. We emphasized that change is long overdue to ensure the safety of everyone in our community. We are committed, we care, and we truly hope our elected officials take our remarks to heart.

We had excellent presentations from Barrio Dogs, East End Communities, SERJobs, East End Kitties, and Fit Houston. Together, we can do more!
