If you’re going to be at Cordova, come find us.

Stop by, talk cars, ask questions, bench race for a while, or just hang out between rounds.

We’ll see you at the track.

**Thicker oil isn’t always better.**

Viscosity is simply an oil’s resistance to flow.

Too thin, and it may not maintain the film strength needed to protect parts under load.
Too thick, and it may not flow quickly enough where it needs to go — especially on cold start or through tight clearances.

The goal is not “thicker.”

The goal is the **right viscosity for the engine, temperature, use, and clearances.**

This is where base stock matters.

True Group IV PAO synthetic oils, like those used in Red Line Synthetic Oil formulations, offer excellent viscosity stability. They resist thinning at high temperatures while also maintaining better cold-flow characteristics compared to many conventional or hydrocracked oils.

That matters because an oil has to work in two very different situations:

Cold start, when flow matters immediately.
High heat, when protection and film strength matter most.

PAO-based synthetics also do not need as much viscosity improver to achieve a multi-grade rating. That is important because viscosity improvers can shear down over time under heat, pressure, and mechanical stress.

Less reliance on viscosity improvers means better stability in hard use.

That’s why choosing oil is not just about the number on the bottle.

It’s about how well that oil maintains protection across the full temperature range.

Street miles.
Track days.
Towing.
High heat.
Hard use.

The right oil matters.
