It’s been almost ten years since I’ve been back to England, and this trip was a special one.
It started out with an intimate wedding in the most beautifully quaint pub in Old Basingstoke for my sweet brother in law and (now) sister in law.
The first week was marked by hot, sunny days chasing shade and cold showers; bunnies resting in grassy fields and ducks swimming down tiny, clear rivers; and a family road trip to Weymouth beach (shoutout to the lost swan floating on the ocean waves).
Then, Luke and I ventured off on our own to Cheltenham, exploring the winding Cotswolds roads past endless rolling hills, lavender fields, tiny stone cottages, and babbling brooks. We enjoyed afternoon tea and stumbled upon an antique car show in a picturesque little town.
Our last stop in Bath included drinking from the Roman bath’s spring (we might die), peeping in on a cricket game, and an evening ghost tour down cobblestone roads (the one in Edinburgh is better).
And of course, I ate my fill of crumpets, full English breakfasts, Sunday roasts, scones, clotted cream, fish and chips, sticky toffee pudding, and black tea. (this is not a safe space to talk s**t about British food)
Time spent in England is always a good pace reset for me, and it’s exactly what I needed after several months spent locked in on opening the new salon. 😌

Removals used to give her anxiety. She was scared of what she would see when the extensions came out.
We started working together three years ago, after over-processing left her hair damaged and broken. We waited six months before we touched her hair with color at all, and when we did, it was minimal and nothing more than absolutely necessary.
For the first two and a half years of her hair health journey, k-tips got her through the process of waiting. They gave her patience even when being patient felt impossible.
At some point along the way, she stopped needing the extensions to feel okay. Her hair grew, got healthy, and she even learned to love her natural brunette color.
She told me at one point she thought she’d always need k-tips.
She doesn’t anymore, and that’s my favorite kind of result.
I hear this every time weft wearers try k-tips for the first time.
More top hits include:
“There’s no tension.”
“They’re so tiny.”
“They’re invisible.”
“I think I might be a k-tip convert.”
K-tips aren’t for EVERYONE, but that moment when a longtime extension wearer realizes k-tips were made for them… it’s magic.

There’s nothing quite like microbonds for hairline detailing.
Putting a weft or tape in this close to the hairline would absolutely result in scalp stress over time. It’s situations like this where k-tips really shine.
But there’s a catch.
You see, most k-tips aren’t built to safely install on hair this fine and fragile. Even though they’re lighter weight than wefts and tapes, most factory made bonds are still too heavy to install in such a high risk area.
And while we can cut factory bonds to be smaller, we then risk losing longevity because there’s less keratin holding the bond in place.
This is where custom made bonds come in.
The density can be hand designed to TRULY match 1:1 with your natural hair. The keratin can be meticulously saturated, built up, and cut down to ensure a tiny yet strong, perfectly encapsulated bond.
If you’re someone who truly cares about hair health and longevity, custom bonds are where it’s at.
