Ep. 3 - Shade vs. Tone of Color Theory Series for Polished Women ✨️

As consumers, it's easy to get confused & mix these terms together & when searching for foundation, it gets discouraging.

Let's understand the difference:

• SHADE: measures from light to dark of a tone
• TONE (or color): are the colors that live on the color wheel basically

• Example of tone: red ❤️
• Example of shade: white + red = pink💗, black + red = burgundy - same tone different level of brightness or darkness

As far as shade of skin: are you light, medium, or dark? That's all you're determining. You know your tone from Ep 1, so add that in & there you go!🙌🏾

Ep. 2 Samples Before Bottles on Color Theory Series for Polished Women ✨️

Step 1: Choose 2-3 foundations that is closest to your tone, you need a loose fitted shirt or a tube top
Step 2: Swatch & spread it out with using your foundation brush
Step 3: ASK FOR A SAMPLE so you can test it & wear it at home & outside

🔑 Key thing is to use & test your eye to catch the tone you learned how to do in episode 1. Also, have fun & don't stress!
