Leading Wellness Clinic Specialized in Lymphatic Drainage and Post Op Treatments in Houston, TX.

Your lymphatic system isn’t found in just one part of your body — it’s a network that extends from head to toe.

That’s why, when clinically indicated, Manual Lymphatic Drainage can be performed on the entire body, including the face, neck, arms, abdomen, back, legs, and feet.

Each gentle movement is performed with purpose, following the body’s natural lymphatic pathways to support the healthy movement of lymphatic fluid.

The result? A treatment that supports your body’s natural function, helping reduce swelling, improve comfort, promote relaxation, and leave you feeling lighter and more balanced.

Because when you care for your lymphatic system, you’re caring for your whole body. ✨

Many people come to a Manual Lymphatic Drainage session expecting something similar to a deep tissue or body contouring massage.

They expect firm pressure, intense movements, or to leave feeling immediately more sculpted.

But that’s not what Manual Lymphatic Drainage is designed to do.

In this video, Carolina explains what Manual Lymphatic Drainage really is and how it works.

One of the biggest misconceptions in the health and wellness industry is that Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a body contouring treatment. It’s not!

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, evidence-based technique that supports your lymphatic system, encourages natural fluid movement, and helps reduce swelling. It is not designed to burn fat, replace weight loss, or reshape your body’s structure.

Knowing the difference helps you set realistic expectations and choose the right treatment for your needs.

If you’re ready to experience the benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, make it part of your weekly self-care routine.

Lymphatic drainage is often misunderstood.

It isn’t body contouring.
It doesn’t burn fat.
And it isn’t meant to replace a healthy lifestyle.

Its purpose is to support your lymphatic system, helping your body manage fluid balance, reduce swelling, and promote overall wellness.

Understanding what a treatment actually does is the first step toward choosing the right care.

⚠️ Not everything labeled as “lymphatic drainage” is actually Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Lately, we’ve seen more and more body contouring and sculpting treatments being marketed as Lymphatic Drainage.

But they’re not the same thing.

True Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, evidence-based technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and support the natural flow of lymphatic fluid throughout the body. It is not meant to be painful, aggressive, or forceful.
We’ve also seen concerning practices being promoted in post-operative care, including:

❌ Incisional drainage
❌ Hot stones and heat-based tools during the early stages of recovery
❌ Excessive pressure during the acute inflammatory phase

Just because a technique is popular doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for every stage of healing.

Recovery isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing the right thing at the right time.

At Carolina Pintos Therapy, our protocols are based on anatomy, physiology, scientific evidence, and respect for the body’s natural healing process.

✨ Because great results start with the right care.

🚩 Not all post-op care is safe.

After surgery, your body enters a highly complex healing process. During the early stages of recovery, the techniques used should support healing — not challenge it.

Some examples that should be avoided during the acute inflammatory phase include:

❌ Incisional drainage
❌ Excessive pressure
❌ Heat-based tools, including Hot Stones

During this phase, inflammation is a normal and necessary part of recovery. Introducing the wrong techniques too early may increase irritation and place unnecessary stress on tissues that are still healing.

At Carolina Pintos Therapy, our protocols are based on science, anatomy, and the body’s natural healing process.

We believe recovery should be guided by what your body needs at each stage — not by trends, aggressive methods, or one-size-fits-all approaches.

Because great results start with the right care, at the right time. ✨
