Your laser results start before you even walk through our doors! 🤎 Shaving the treatment area approximately 24 hours before your laser hair removal appointment helps us provide a safer, more comfortable, and more effective treatment.

When you shave, you remove the visible hair above the skin while leaving the hair follicle and root intact underneath. That’s exactly what we want! The laser is designed to target the pigment in the hair and deliver energy down into the follicle.

Shaving beforehand can help:

✨ Allow the laser to effectively target the follicle instead of wasting energy heating longer hair sitting above the skin.

✨ Reduce unnecessary heat and irritation. Longer surface hair can absorb laser energy, which may increase discomfort and the chance of irritation.

✨ Give your skin time to calm down. Shaving immediately before your appointment can leave temporary redness, razor burn, or sensitivity, which is why we prefer approximately 24 hours beforehand when possible.

✨ Keep your treatment on track. Proper preparation allows your provider to focus on delivering your treatment safely and efficiently.

A few important reminders before your appointment: Use a clean, sharp razor and gently shave the entire treatment area. Do NOT wax, tweeze, thread, or epilate the hair before laser treatments because these methods remove the root we need to target. Avoid self-tanner on the treatment area and arrive with clean skin free of lotions, oils, deodorant, or other products when instructed.

And remember—you do NOT need to grow your hair out between laser appointments. You can shave as needed! 🪒✨
