💧 SENSORY DECODING: WATER 💧

Water can feel wonderful… or overwhelming.
It all depends on how it is experienced.
For some children, water may feel calming, regulating, visually interesting, or predictable.
For others, water may feel too loud, too cold, too hot, uncomfortable on the skin, or overwhelming on the body.
Water experiences can include:
💧 visual fascination💧 body regulation💧 repetition and flow💧 too much sensory input

Understanding the “why” helps us respond with more compassion and support.
Water play can be joyful and meaningful — and support starts with meeting each child where they are. 💛

✨ 4TH OF JULY SUPPORT ✨

Fireworks can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming for children who are sensitive to loud sounds, bright lights, crowds, or unexpected changes.

Support can look like headphones, comfort items, previews, watching from a distance, having an exit plan, or choosing a quieter way to celebrate.

Not every child has to experience the holiday the same way.Feeling safe and supported matters. 💛

Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸

☀️ SUMMER BRINGS MORE THAN SUNSHINE… ☀️
Summer can be exciting, fun, and full of new experiences — but it can also bring a lot of changes.
For some children, summer may mean:
🍦 new routines
🦀 less structure
🌸 different sleep schedules
🥥 more transitions
🧺 new places or people
🏖️ changes in expectations
Even positive changes can feel big when a child does not know what to expect.
A little support can help summer feel more predictable:
☀️ preview the day
☀️ use visual schedules
☀️ give transition warnings
☀️ keep some routines consistent
☀️ offer simple choices
☀️ allow extra time to process
Summer does not have to be perfect to be meaningful.
Sometimes the biggest support is helping children feel safe, prepared, and understood. 💛
Where compassion glows.

✨ Glow Tip: You don’t have to be calm — just present. ✨

Caregivers, you don’t have to respond perfectly every time.

You don’t have to have the perfect words.
You don’t have to fix everything immediately.
You don’t have to be calm every second to support your child.

Sometimes, your presence is the support.
A steady voice.
A soft place to land.
A moment of connection.
A reminder that your child is not alone.
Regulation is built through relationship — not perfection.

✨ FLYING THIS SUMMER? ✈️✨

Airplane travel can bring a lot of new sounds, waiting, transitions, crowds, and unexpected changes.

Many airlines offer accessibility supports or travel-readiness programs that may help make flying feel more predictable and supported for neurodivergent children and their families.

Before your trip, consider asking your airline about:

✈️ Pre-boarding
🎧 Accessibility or disability support
🪑 Seating accommodations
🧳 Airport assistance
🌻 Hidden disability supports
🛫 Practice-flight or travel-readiness programs

You can also contact TSA Cares at least 72 hours before travel to request support through the security screening process.

A little preparation can go a long way. 💛
Save this before your next flight!

Some dads learn sign language.

Some dads memorize therapy schedules.

Some dads can recite every fact about trains, dinosaurs, Minecraft, or Taylor Swift.

Some dads read IEPs, attend appointments, and spend countless hours advocating for their child.

And some dads are still learning, growing, and figuring it out one day at a time.

No matter where you are on the journey, your presence matters.

💙 Happy Father’s Day to the dads who continue to show up with love, patience, and hope.

✨ Glow Tip: Celebrate attempts, not outcomes. ✨

Progress doesn’t always look like “getting it right.”
Sometimes progress looks like:
trying something new,
staying for one more minute,
using a new word or gesture,
tolerating a small change,
asking for help,
or simply showing up.

When we focus only on the final outcome, we can miss the courage it took to try.
Children deserve to feel celebrated in the process, not only when they perform perfectly.
