Sometimes ya just need to freshen up the balayage to make yourself feel brand new. 😍

While I see this guest every 5 weeks for a routine color retouch service, we often don’t touch up her balayage pieces. Honestly, I provide her with a balayage service twice a year! This allows her the chance to have a dimensional look while still maintaining a darker appearance up top & covering up those pesky “sparkles”. 😉

If you’ve not heard yet, chlorine does a number on your hair, and not in a good way. While chlorine is great for getting bacteria out of our swimming pools, it is not so great on our hair. Chlorine will strip the natural oils that our bodies produce resulting in dehydrated, frizzy, and tangled hair. Chlorine can even change the color of the hair strands - especially for blonde hair which typically results in having a green hue. Here are some of my tips and tricks on how to protect your mane from chlorine. 👇🏻

🏊🏻‍♀️ Prior to getting in the pool rinse your hair, apply a leave-in conditioner (ex: Structure Repair Leave In Cream or Un.Tangled 😉), and go! By applying a leave-in conditioner you are creating a hydrating barrier between your hair and the chlorine found in your pools water.

🏊🏻‍♀️ Style your hair in a top knot bun or a high pony tail. This will minimize the chances of your hair from falling and accidentally getting soaked with chlorine water.

🏊🏻‍♀️ Use Purifying Cleanse Shampoo or the K18 Detox Shampoo after your swim. These products will remove build up and unwanted chemicals on your hair and scalp without stripping the natural oils.

🏊🏻‍♀️ See your professional stylist and ask for a “Swimmers Malibu Treatment”. This treatment is designed to remove chlorine, minerals, and salt from your hair while restoring its shine and manageability.

🏊🏻‍♀️ Wear a swim cap. I know it isn’t the best look but your hair will thank you! This will prevent the chlorine water from penetrating any part of your hair.

I’ve been keeping a secret… 🤫🤭

I am so excited to share that my little family is growing by 10 tiny toes and 1 strong heartbeat - due October 2026. 👶🏻👣💛

With that being said I will be on maternity leave starting in October and will return at the first of the new year!

👣 I am currently reserving appointments up until my maternity leave. Reservations are quickly filling - NOW is the time to reserve your summer and fall appointments.
