20 years as a PA—and I’m still incredibly proud to say I get to take care of people.

PAs do A LOT.

We evaluate, diagnose, treat, prescribe, order and interpret testing, perform procedures, educate patients, manage chronic conditions, and collaborate with the entire healthcare team.

Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology & Aesthetics and so much more.

My own journey has taken me through family medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, inpatient medicine, teaching and mentoring future PAs—and now aesthetics.

Different chapters. Same purpose.
Caring for people.

I’m grateful for 20 years of purpose, growth, challenges, relationships, and the privilege of serving my patients.

To my fellow PAs: Thank you for showing up, continuing to learn, advocating for your patients, and shaping the future of healthcare.

LET’S TALK ABOUT BRUISING.

One of the hardest parts of being an injector?

I’ve lost clients because they bruised.

Not because their treatment didn’t look good.
Not because they weren’t happy with their results.
But because they weren’t prepared for the possibility of bruising, even after extensive discussion prior to treatment rendered.

And here’s the truth:

If we’re injecting into the face, we’re working around a vascular network.

Even with excellent technique, careful anatomy knowledge, and the smallest needles, a blood vessel can be nicked.

And sometimes… you bruise.

There are also factors that can influence your risk:

Caffeine before your appointment
Elevated blood pressure
Rushing into your appointment
Certain medications & supplements
Alcohol
Your individual anatomy and personal tendency to bruise….
AND sometimes, honestly, luck.

Think about it this way:

You can do everything “right” and still get a bruise.

That doesn’t automatically mean your injector did something wrong.

A good injector should never promise you that you won’t bruise.

Instead, they should educate you about the risks, take steps to minimize them, understand facial vascular anatomy, and have a plan for managing complications and unexpected outcomes.

At Confidence Renewed, I’d rather prepare you for the possibility than make you a promise I can’t keep.

Because beautiful results start with realistic expectations.

Bruising is possible.
Education is essential.
Anatomy matters.
And your injector should be honest with you.
